Red Card Reggiani. Last man. Greek player accentuated contact but why is Reggiani making contact with a player not even possession of the ball? But TBF he had a head of steam and could have ran onto it.
Camarda and Faticanti On. Holy Shit, Saint Koleosho is actually Off!!! Way to give Camarda 4 entire Minutes.
Makes sense now why Greece were complaining about the u21 squad selection, they got beat by a bunch of kids.
I'm not blaming them if they do it but if they want to build a team based on speed over skill then can I probably forget about Fagioli and they will bring along N'dour.
Just when I thought Italia couldn't get any dumber, they play two meaningless friendlies and can't figure out how to showcase Inacio. We are a braindead football country
Absolutely ********ing loser program that needs an enema. Not preferred but even if you wanted to have Koleosho play every Minute you could have put Inacio at CF instead of Pio which is a second or third choice position he plays. It's OK. As long as Baldini served his interests.
And I don't believe for a second Palestra got hurt. He was likely being moved to Inter, Inter asks them to get him out of Italy duty, only for the deal to stall.
Cant believe inacio didnt play at all today. What a joke. Dont think many players will be thers in september other than Donnarumma, piselli, esposito. I think inacio and koloscho will also be there, would also like to see lipani and mane to be called. Cant see any others there. September squad in my view Donnarumma, Carnesecchi, Caprile Leoni, Calafiori, Coppola, Scalvini, Kayode, Palestra, Mane, Bastoni, Tonali, Barella, Doumbia, Lipani, Di Marco, Piselli, Cacciamani, Liberali Inacio, tresoldi, kean, koloscho, p esposito, Camarda
Beat Greece with the under 21s and a red card. Senior team could not hold on to a 1-0 lead with a red against Bosnia. Shows how much a 433 changes things. Yes of course there was no pressure here. But structurally it is clear as day. You don't need world beaters in the wide areas you just need guys that can run with decent technique. Pio is also the real deal. His Italy goal record is seriously impressive. He also just has the X factor. The other thing that is sometimes not mentioned when you play with a back 3 and Dimarco and Politano are your wingbacks it can never be a back 5 you always have 3 defenders isolated. A back 4 is more defensive unless a manager really knows how to construct a back 5.
Baldini will favour his guys. Just like how he plays 22 years olds when managing the under 21s ahead of more talented 20 year olds. This is the problem with our system. Everyone has to wait their turn which withers players away while mediocre talent is exposed by 23/24.
Just echoing what everyone has said already, Perfect opportunity with Koleosho on the right to start Inacio. I think ultimately that desire to win takes over though and he’s going with his group like all the managers do. Who knows who is gonna be the right guy to rebuild this mess, is it Mancini?
Oh my God, man. For real. They are their own worse enemies. These next 6 weeks are going to suck. Let's just get it over with.
Incidentally, not mentioned here but in the early days of retreat, Baldini said that if they qualify, he wants to bring Gigio and Pio to the LA Olympics.
Would be nice to have a good showing in the U19 tournament too softens it a little.A lot of this really doesn’t matter if Malagò doesn’t come in and make some changes and shake things up though.
Yeah, the Bosnia team arrived here today for Friday. This blows. The Luxembourg and Greece Friendlies were announced the day after the Bosnia playoff match. So obviously the FIGC had 2 different match schedules depending how the playoff went.
I think these friendlies were very valuable. Rebirth starts small with tiny seeds after a big forest fire. You have to see what you have. Sure some of these players won't be in our long-term plans, but what we saw today was YOUTH and ENERGY. Nobody was a cadaver out there like Di Marco.
I still can't believe we went with that guy, De Rossi would have got us there too. Not starting a beast like Palestra was unforgivable.
Agreed, what a shame we didn't see De Marcs hands behind the back split legged fall to the floor. Or the back passing bum Di Lorenzo.
I wouldn't mind Italia aking the olympics seriously. Every other footballing nation does, outside of England. A successful u20/u21 & Olympics pool usually yields success...all of the best footballing nations make it a point to compete at the olympics.
