Ricci was great against france in that game. Allegri has spent most of the season playing a 40 year old modric before ricci. Casedei is way to good for under 21 level just needs more game time and faith shown in him.
Modric is amazing, I'd prolly start him too but he is not a regista like Ricci plays for Italy. Ricci can play both roles and I've advocated he should've been our starter for quite some time now but all the coaches gave up on him. Rovella is very similar but is very injury prone. I'm surprised you don't like Fagioli, he looks great too. If we play Barella, Tonali, and Pisilli(or N'dour), one of the former two have to play the regista. Both have played it for club, dunno who I prefer there.
Maybe im been harsh on fagioil. Ill reserve judgement. I love to be proved wrong. Maybe he should be called up in june and given some game time. I agree about regista role its a tough one to who plays it. Rovella definately isnt good enough for italy.
Modric at 50 will be better than ricci. Do you watch serie a at all?? Lukita ran circles around these shitty midfielders. Pirlo twirls and all
Oooffff. I'm the first to admit I'm not all sunshine but you are a doomsdayer worse than I can ever be. THAT team is better than 30 teams there are would win Group B.
These Serie B playoffs continue to be more exciting than Serie A. Catanzaro Palermo was a high energy well-paced game. Who knew Liberali could play? Nice goal from him with great close control and change of direction back to his left.
People in Milan world are starting to ask themselves if it was a mistake to let Liberali go so early. Reminder they sold him for 0 euro and only a 50% sell on clause. Absolutely no belief this kid would turn good. In a season of one tragedy after the other, Liberali was one of the bright spots. I was worried about him at the start of the season. But amazing things can happen when you have patience and belief in a player
Liberali always had skill and agility. What he was missing was strength on the ball. That's something that a team with good sports nutrition and conditioning coaches isn't afraid to tackle. Those must not exist in Italia though.
TBF, he probably will never get that because he isn’t a physically strong player unless he has a growth spurt soon.
We have to stop thinking in these ways and we need accentuate the positives. What matters is what the player can do in the 18. We completely lost site of this. Del Piero has made this point multiple times
Many examples in this clip of Liberali holding up the ball and using his strength and technique against bigger players. Serie B is a very physical league that favours journeymen and he is doing more than fine as far as handling the physicality. He is not Giovinco who himself was mishandled and went on to be by far the GOAT MLS player until Messi. He reminds me of Zola who was also 5'6. His low centre of gravity is an attribute. Let's also remember Insigne is 5'4.
I agree 100%. But, the point I was trying to make is that Liberali last year wasn't as strong on the ball as he is now. That doesn't mean he should have been tossed aside the way Milan did. Catanzaro clearly has had patience with him and allowed him to keep growing and getting stronger. That patience is lacking completely in Serie A and it's a shame.
Guardiola leaves man city at end of the season. Italy is calling pep. Just messaged man city on their e mail pleading with pep. He may get it he may not but after 3 missed world cups ill try anything.
I doubt Pep joins but he would be my next choice after Mancini or Baldini. I much rather have Pep than Conte or Allegri. Him and Baggio are very close, so Baggio prolly would have to get involved if he is joining here.
IMO need to get serious and get Pep. As was mentioned earlier, the International Breaks will now be longer. We know he has complex ideas and would normally be difficult to convey across in a 7-10 day international break but a longer break could work.
I have always been in the camp that we don't need foreign CTs. Historically our managers have been the envy of the world. But, like many things in our country, we've allowed ourselves to be passed by. I would support Pep because a) he's an Italo-phile and b) he's an innovator.
Found them in 6th, will finish the season in 6th. Absolutely not his fault that Di Gregorio can't even stop a beach ball these days. It was posted on another board that expanded stats show he has cost Juve 10 Points this season. Draws turned to Losses, should be Win to Draws or Losses. Between he and Koopmeiners they've turned to shit.
All international sports have foreign coaches. It's not the end of the world if we hire a foreign coach for a first time, to me it's a nothing burger. When you miss out on 3 World Cups in a row, there should be no restrictions to improving your team.
Technically Italy's already had a foreign manager, Helenio Herrera. Given what's in the country, now it's going to matter for the CT?
Didn't even know this, I just did a quick check and we've actually had 3 foreign coaches in the last. Honestly if Pep is available and wanting to, you really can't say no. It's like Brazil saying no to Don Carlo, that was never going to happen.
