Carletto needs to back TF off on this one. Yeah, Tresoldi is as good as gone. But Italy should still make an overture for him. You just never know. I loved how Gattuso bragged he saw a few hundred matches in person to watch his players but he couldn't make a single phone call to Tresoldi to introduce himself?
I feel like with Tresoldi they were short sighted and loyal to Retegui Kean Pio Scamacca Raspadori. Since Gatusso had 4/5 CF he liked he did not out any work into Tresoldi. If he were a regista at that level Gatusso probably would have moved mountains to cap him. Felt internally political to not upset "the group". Same can be said for why he did not use Fagioli.
Buffon, Zaza, neither of these 2 neanderthals ever suggest to Gattuso to call him or his agent? The kid was and probably still is a Milanista he would have loved to get a call from Gattuso. OK fine TC. Maybe not to cap him but at least make a call and say: I'm watching you, keep up the good work at Brugge. This is a dirilect of duty as far as I'm concerned.
Don't get me wrong I am saying this is likely the silly political reason they did not make overtures to him. Gatusso was not going to give him a spot. He should have! We did not need 4 GKs. I agree it was a huge mistake and now unless he comes to Serie A and Germany does not cap him by at least the nations league it is probably a lost cause.
Imagine how lost and unaware of your surroundings when you have 2 national teams the caliber of Germany and/or Argentina (if there is truth in the report by Bild) after a player born in Italy and lived to age 13 and his name is Nicolò Tresoldi, and you are now a 3rd tier national team and you don't even give this guy a phone call? This is how far Italy has fallen. Reform reform reform, they say. And yet, Max Allegri's name is being mentioned as CT. This is as absurd as it gets.
Andrea Adorante wins Serie B MVP. And if we know the way the system works, some ambitious Serie B club is going to try to sign him next summer because they know he’s a sure bet
Atalanta did not want to lose Inacio and literally filed a complaint to Fifa regarding his transfer. Also I wouldn't worry about us losing him to Brazil. He is one of youth leaders. One of his best friends and roommate is our U19 captain Reggiani. They do everything together. Brazil can try to poach him all they want, I just can't see us losing him as he has always said its a dream come true to play for Italy.
Gattuso literally had Di Lorenzo and Zaccagni on the bench for the N. Ireland and Bosnia games. Just think about that for a moment. That tells you everything you need to know, he was always going to stick with his subpar vets.
It's similar to how no one ever considered Grifo, an all time leading goal scorer and playmaker in the Bundesliga (and one of the BEST set piece takers in the world, yet how did we miss out on the last two World Cups again?) yet we rather play freaking El Sharaawy in the Euros. These coaches don't give a damn if you are not playing in Italy or England. I've been saying it for many years.
Sorry this is OT, but AGomes did bring up a great point before on how Ferrari lost a generational talent bc he was deemed to young for them. His leader said this through his comms as he was the second youngest driver ever to win a race: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JfujWSAQQgA And I don't know anything about Ferrari's team but their leader is another old timer and reminds me of all our old timer coaches who don't value our youth. Times are changing. Missing this World Cup is finally the last straw, I feel very confident things will change and we will start giving the keys to our youth.
Sounds reasonable, but it's kind of interesting how they took exception and spoke out last December against North American sporting event customs of Pride recognition when they were drawn into the match versus Egypt in Seattle during that city's Pride week. My point: regardless of what you think of this custom, it exists here in North America. If you are going to demand respect for customs, recipocate.
I'm sure they will be granted what they are asking for but I can still foresee protestors on both sides.
Of course. Some LA Iranians will try and sneak in banners and flags. Probably could see both anti-regime and pro-regime fans get violent. I wonder if the US cancels their visa's mid-flight like the Canadians did for the Congress. I do wonder if this was an oversight or did it to f********k with them. Iran is absolutely not going to play that July 3 R32 match against the US should it occur. No way.
Yes it will still be contentious. The US is not going to tell Iran they can't come but it may recognize certain players staffers as "terrorists" if they have any association with IRGC. This already happened in Canada where some Iranian officials were turned away because a Canadian was killed in a plane that was shot down by Iran a few years ago. No country is going to politically come out and attack Iranian football but it's not a simple situation. It could come down to the wire.
At least he has his $52.3 million USD in total career earnings from TFC to fall back on.... Another sad football story.. A sad ending for Lorenzo Insigne and Pescara Insini returned to save his former club from relegation, but the mission ended in disappointment This result confirms their relegation to the Italian third league (Serie C)
More than just 1 Canadian. Over 100-something souls perished total. It was a Ukraine Airlines flight. Iran probably shot it down on the request of their besties, Russia. Yet they have the balls to be insulted at being pulled aside for a few questions at Pearson airport.
If that happens I think they will and they'll play it with a ferocity that we have not played against. It could end up being a classic.
Those two teams do not play defensively because they don't believe they have to. I'm pretty sure neither of them would have got 4 or 5 goals on Cholo's team.
