Cancellieri is good on the break. He’s good in a Sarri coached team. I thought he was going to make the Italy team for sure at the start of the season but then he got inured. My only complaint for him is that I wish he was better or more brave in the 1v1s

    I respectfully disagree with Bonucci.

I see great great talent/potential for the future, but I don't see the same in the current generation as 2021 squad

It was a joy to watch Ekhator, Colombo, and Baldanzi even if it was only against Pisa. That is the type of Serie A I want to watch.

Baldanzi just needs to learn how to finish. Colombo is turning into an interesting 9 he could be among the talents to push Retegui if he doesn't return to top flight football. Ekhator is exciting I would call him for Italy now.

“You have to go back to the Italian DNA, which is good defenders, good goalkeepers, and good strikers,” said Gullit.

“The last trophy that Italy won was largely thanks to Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini. That is your DNA, the best defenders.”

“I don’t mean you need to park the bus, but once upon a time there was Paolo Maldini in defence, while Fabio Cannavaro won the Ballon d’Or for Italy. Defending is important.

“Now everyone wants to do the tiki-taka football playing out from their own penalty area, but that is not for everyone.”

Zoff: "If a goalkeeper has more touches than a striker, something is wrong"

The legend sees the absurdity that has become modern goalkeeping. Pay attention to goalkeeping today. Modern keepers can't even tip a low strike around the post anymore, they lock their wrists because they are being forced into ridiculous shot stances by their trainers...all form has been trashed and replaced with Neuer starman clown saves and forcing them to be prime Valderrama.

Italy just failed to qualify for a third WC and here are are talking about players like Columbo and Cancellieri...lol, what a sad bunch we are. Some of you live and breath this team too much. And who cares about posting future starting 11's, for what? Euro 2027 qualifying...lol. give it a break.

Weren't you the one that admitted to having a fake name on the rivalry board? Should do that instead, I suppose. To each their own.

Bonucci was at the Laureus Awards tonight. Besides making the comparison about the 2021/2026 teams said:

"I would start with the possibility of bringing in Pep Guardiola, because his arrival would mean a radical change from the past. I know it's very difficult, but dreaming costs nothing."

EDIT: nicely struck PK by Colombo this weekend. Could have used that 3 weeks ago.

Euro 2028 and yes it never ends that's how sports work. World Cup will be over in the blink of an eye and they will have to try and build a project straight away. It's not for everyone have to be able to take the lumps.

For what we qualifying in 2027 after we didn't get to a third straight WC...sounds very therapeutic to the loser mentally Italian national teams have now. Why care so much when a corrupt federation who could have fixed things 15 years ago did nothing and let it get to this state. And here we are hoping and hoping players like Inacio pan out and even dont switch nationalities cause we haven't seen a world class players in 20 years. You know things are rotten in Italian football when England produce 5x the talent we do. When did that ever happen before?
