I hope Frosinone and Monza are the automatic promotion teams and Catanzaro via playoff.

I would also love to see Hellas, Pisa, and hopefully Lecce relegate.

If those two scenarios become reality, there is a huge chance we could reduce the percentage of foreigner from 69% now to around 63%. We can then aim at below 60% at the end of summer transfer of next year.

Remember, we were at 53% the year before Cristiano Ronaldo came, but the percentage has been rising since. It's tough to be at that number again given now we have Como, in addition to Udinese, that fills their squad with around 80%. We no longer have squads like Sassuolo back then who only had 4 foreigners to offset the two despotisms.

You hit the root of the problem right in the head. This is not a Serie A or FIGC problem, but it's an Italia problem. Long term solutions/planning and youth is overlooked at pretty much every sector of the country. Hopefully changing the culture around football and have that being a success, will serve a benchmark for the country to emulate. But understand that doing it is the total opposite of the whole country's mindset.

They should get the tennis federation in charge to make revamped to the systems. Seems like they are one of the few how to recognize issues and tackle them.

Yes, Claudio Lotito got my attention when he insisted ADP be involved. You are going to need an ex-football that gives a ******** about the shirt as a 1A.

Yes the growth decree around 2020 and the push to bring in Ronaldo and sell Serie A as offensive by giving away lot of PKs which artificially made Serie A the most offensive league lead to this. The Calcio is back program was a giant bandaid.

Yes this is true especially with regards to stadiums being halted because of local municipalities and Italy experiencing brain drain because of nepotism which slashes employment options for graduates etc but we also have to remember in other sports Italy is doing very well. We also have to remember that when you eliminate rural and southern Italy from economic demographics Italy is closer to Germany and France than it is Portugal Greece and even Spain economically.

The population decline is an issue the cultural factors are an issue but fundamentally for many reasons Calcio is host to all the worst aspects of Italian society from mafias and tax evasion and black market kits to conservative thinking when it comes to tactics and youth etc.

This does not have to be the case.
Italy has many positives as well and we see this in other sports.
Of course all the vampires latched onto the biggest sport and have tried to drain it for a century.

Any of the youth tournaments we qualify for! I'm taking it one step at a time. I'm treating each one as a fan with equal weight possibly as a coping mechanism, but partly because I want the youth to continue to shine and I also just want to move ahead swiftly

Euro U17 starts on May 25th and Euro U19 from late June

In October, the U17 World Cup will take place in Qatar (we have already qualified), while for the 2027 U20 World Cup, it depends on our performance at Euro U19 (5 out of 8 teams qualify: the four semifinalists plus the winner of the play-off between the third-placed teams in the groups). At the end of April, there is the U15 Torneo delle Nazioni

Watch out for Dagasso, he is very technical and is the playmaker for the U21 team.

Yes he has impressed me he is way too good for Serie B.. no reason why a club like Parma or Cagliari couldn't use him.

Real Madrid has been trending in this direction for a while even Athletico does not provide players to the national team their Spanish players are older. How many English players do United Liverpool and City have? This is becoming the norm the difference is in Spain France Germany the mid table teams are full of domestic players and the big teams like PSG Bayern Barca will launch domestic teenagers from their academies.

Every Serie A team has like 3 Italian goalkeepers just to fill out the EU rule so that's like 50 players that hardly count. Then when we consider how many Italians in Serie A are journeymen CBs etc. I would like to see the numbers in the CL and EL.

Still Spain with 505 and France with 387 tells the tale. England gets by because they invest the most in youth development so its quality over quantity for them and even still Serie A is 49th of 50 leagues in terms of giving under 21 players minutes so it all becomes moot when the pipeline is so narrow.

Guido Della Rovere's callup to the First Team is gonna have to wait -- he's been injured.

GDS is reporting Donnarumma and Barella will be left off June's Callips. TBF, I thought it was a given for Barella.

In league play Madrid have already gone with a non-Spanish 11. Find it ironic that the "we aren't Spanish, we are Catalan" Barca are more pro-Spanish player than General Franco's team.
