Malago is the Mark Carney of Italian football LMAO (I don't support any right wing politics but the analogy is perfect)
Ye but this just makes them even more the modern Brazil. They are producing hundreds and hundreds of multi ethnic working class french nationals that are filling the French roster but also the roster of several African nations. The point is the players are being produced in their systems not the systems of origin. While Spain is like what Argentina was where they are not as multi ethnic as France but they host a population of south american immigrants many who got their EU passport through Italy that then are available to go back to Argentina depsite being trained in the Spanish system. These are like the Oriundi that Italy benefitted from. Spain and France are leaps and bounds ahead of every one else. There was no Yamine Yamal of Spain before even during their golden period of 2008-2012 none of their players were what he is. This is what Brazil used to produce but no longer can.
The diaspora battle in international football has been occurring since the 50s. You can look at most successful national teams and throughout time they have all been fighting to make players eligible that they thought they could. Italia used to be better at it 50s through 70s. Then the talent factory was so good Italia could just hand pick them sparingly. Now we have killed our talent development and become so weak at the diaspora game it's scary. We are incredibly weak in both areas needed in the international game, to develop youth into senior team and to cap tie those who are eligible. The frustrating part is we have successful youth players year over year that we choose to squash in Italia with loan after loan, minuteless seasons, inconsistent playing time, etc. We aren't doing either one and if the two favorites of Allegri and Conte is truly to be believed, we won't be doing either anytime soon = more failures and potential to become truly tier 3 football nation or worse.
it reminds me of the dying villages in Italia, just unwilling to reinvest anything in themselves and letting old processes and figureheads get in the way of change or progress. Italia should be proud of having Italian lineage or Italian adjacent people all over the world but somehow over time we are a nation that is either scared of it or ignoring it for football. The world game is played with those who likely do not have 100% of your own nations blood and I don't see an Italia that will choose to change itself anytime soon. Wanting Italia to remain pure 100% is a death sentence when combining it with the willful decision to destroy the careers of our youth even the ones who are 100%
I'm telling everyone right now, the Bosnia fan somewhat disagreed with me, we are much closer to becoming a Bulgaria or a Romania rather than (re)flourishing it's ridiculously scary.
Any news about Iran’s participation or possible replacement? I know I can’t have real hopes but whatever.
Como owned Fabio Rispoli got his first goal for Catanzaro. Liberali with the assist 39’: #CTZMOD 2-1RISPOLI!!!!! 🎯#AvantiAquile 🟡🔴 pic.twitter.com/cKrsfTMpNi— U.S. Catanzaro 1929 (@USCatanzaro1929) April 14, 2026
It is not a permanent solution but above all else Serie B is working hard to play mostly Italians...many Italians there age 19 to 24 get to play routinely. This is not a bad thing, there are bigger and better leagues for Italians to play, but this will only help us For me, this season of Serie B specifically has been a safe haven for me not to lose my mind. Also, Liberali strikes me of a player who a trainer or manager must embrace his technique and allow himself to express creativity in the way he wants to. the more creative he gets to be it seems you'll get the best out of him. He may be a player that becomes depressed if you try to tactically squash his expression.
IO SAREI MENO PESSIMISTA. NON E' UN PROBLEMA DI TALENTO, MA UN PROBLEMA DI MENTALITA' , rifaccio presente che le ns NAZIONALI GIOVANILI STANNO FACENDO BENISSIMO e non DA UNA STAGIONE ma da una SERIE CHE PARTE DAL 2018 VEDIAMO se sabato sera vi faccio un'analisi cosi provo a farvi VISUALIZZARE la situazione che è stata dagli ANNI 2000 (DOVE FACEVAMO SCHIFO AL CAZZO!!!!!!!!) e la differenza rispetto dal 2018 che fino ad ORA che mi farebbe sperare pure BENE, perchè SE QUALCUNO VI DICE CHE I PROBLEMI SONO IL TALENTO CHE MANCA BEH QUEL QUALCUNO NON CAPISCE UN CAZZO!!!!!!!!!
11/11 Italian starters today by the way for Catanzaro. Calabria is the birthplace of the name "Italia" and it looks like we might have to be the starting point for the rebirth of the national team by being one of the only clubs to go all in on italian players.
Oh I am with you 100% year over year especially since 2017 or so the youth teams thrive, but the mentality, the figureheads, the system are squashing their careers at the club level. No believe me I do not think the talent is missing believe me!
If my Frosinone make it somehow I hope we will contribute to playing some Italians. Ideally what we did for Soule and Brescianini I would like to do again with more Italians. I also wish Monza would believe more in the Italian project than they did previously. They did well to start but then somehow lost their way with it.
Simeone knows how to win a CL game but boy do I not want him as our coach. He was playing a 6-3-1 formation at times. Terrorist shit at its finest.
Yeah, agreed. Used to be a time where Italians emigrated and Italy benefitted. Now Italy takes them in and could lose them where this was never an issue. This is why these idiots need to pay attention. Look at Spain getting eliminated by Morroco at the last WC and the last PK converted by Hakimi. Born and raised in Spain.
