It’s all about the money of the CL…. Before you needed to be a winner to be in the CL… now it’s just a place for financially unstable clubs to generate more revenue.

    That is a MLS squad.

Juve and Milan always looking for bargain basement deals. Trying to squeeze out one or two years on players on their way out.

FC Porto winning 2004 killed the CL...not because they didn't deserve...Porto didn't know any better, they built a winner...but because UEFA acted swiftly to prevent it ever happening again.

I'm convinced anyone who actually enjoys the CL today as a general fan is either American or psychotic

I hold the opposite view. It's one of the last true winners in the traditional sense where the backbone of the squad was homegrown.

Funny enough I was thinking of this a few days ago. LMAO!

Each confederation nominate a team for a mini tournament. Winner goes to the WC.

I still believe Iran will not participate and I don't blame them.

Many apologies is I've already written it but they have beem launching bombs towards UAE (US's allies in the Gulf). Could be a scenario where UAE doesn't go either. Although I believe they would if asked. Even if they don't there are other teams in the AFC to select.

I bet after all this is over FIFA make regulations about replacement teams. As of now it is "up to their discretion".

Not that I remember all of the finer points of 2014 but a was reading about how Messi was given the Golden Ball Winner of that tournament because of his sponsorship with Adidas. There was a quote by Sepp Blatter (who is another corrupt SOB) who famously said he was surprised he was told Messi would be announced the winner.

Point is, given Adidas sponsors Italy, I would NOT be surprised if they work behind the scenes should Iran pull out.

But would UEFA even nominate Italy? UEFA would want a competitive team. Something these losers are not.

Spalletti tried a 4-3-3 with Zaniolo and Zaniolo was bad, Chiesa on the other hand was usually our best player, but also at the time we had Raspadori and Scamacca as our strikers. Remember the Ukraine 0-0 Euro playoffs game?

The only question IMO is how much closer to the tournament date does Iran leave it.

If they boycotted a 3v3 basketball tournament in freaking Singapore over this aggression towards them by the apartheid Zionists and their puppets I can't imagine them sending their players to the US. Even if they would be safe. Indeed I believe the Iran team would be warmly recieved, as they should be.

This is why I really believe it really would have to be Iran WANTING to give Italy the spot.

From what I see, Denmark replaced Yugoslavia 10 days before the start of Euro'92.

The decision has to be made by May 13. If in the event that they choose Italy, even for a playoff the moral thing for the federation to do is send a U23 team with Baldini as coach

There is 0 chance FIFA will move irans games to Mexico, and what if Iran make the knockout stages and have play in the States they just going to forfit. Honestly I'd just remove them at this point.

    From the Eurosport article

“I Mondiali 2026 inizieranno tra due mesi, l'11 giugno ed è chiaro che l'Iran non potrà decidere troppo a ridosso. Un indizio arriva dal regolamento della Fifa secondo cui una Nazionale che decida di ritirarsi dal Campionato del mondo a meno di 30 giorni dalla prima partita sarà punita con una multa di circa 500mila euro. Entro il 13 maggio, quindi, una decisione dovrà necessariamente essere presa. ”

    Ah OK.

Plenty of italy fans don't want this even though all Denmark fans wanted it and 92 and covet their Euro title. Get ready to learn New Zealand, boys.

    Also from a recent episode...

Supposedly Malagò was convicted of 3 fake university degrees.

JFC the corruption is so rife. Somehow they all find themselves in positions of power while the ex-footballers don't have a say.

And then there is Paolo DiCanio who is the poster child for accepting mediocrity said that Pep Guardiola isn't the answer but rather Antonio Conte is.
