I dont care if Ruggeri got an assist, Ive seen enough of Atletico, he is average. Calafiori, Bartesaghi, and possibly Udogie should be our LBs going forward.

Also we are not going to play our sidebacks as midfielders in front of our sidebacks. First it was Dimarco, now it's Ruggeri lol. These guys can't take on their man! It's like having Politano start on the wing, we are going to go backwards.

I still think we could get De Zerbi but only if we show true interest which we never had before. He basically was hired to save them from relegation. If they are relegated, he might be gone. If he saves them, he could always ask them to let him go for the job.

Let me see if I understand correctly. Gravina and the FIGC made their report highlighting all the shortcomings in italian football but Gravina had a shade under 7.5 years to fix it and he didn't.

So if Italy won that penalty shootout would this uproar even be happening?

I would welcome FIFA to suspend Italy amd open up a corruption case against them.

If this shit can be repaired then all this would have been worth it.

Makes sense now why ADP sent his son to go play in Spain. Name escapes me now but there is another ex pro that sent his son as well. Was mentioned on the prospects thread. Might as well learn football properly.

If Camarda's agent cared about him he would get him to Spain, France, or Germany.

I always thought Diego Simone would make a great Italy coach. Though I’m sure after he is done with Atletico he will go on and coach Argentina.

So the news from Napoli indicate that Conte and ADL are headed for showdown talks right at the end of the season to discuss his future with Napoli.

The gossip is that ADL wants Conte to stay on, but with the conditions that for the final year he no longer has carte blanche on transfers like he did last summer. The club cannot continue to spend the way he wants either on transfers or salaries. And if you look at the names we have been linked to like Alajbegovic it indicates a return to our old transfer policy.

I watched a few of the games before the playoff matches and thought it was odd that he wasn’t being talked about. The general opinions always seemed a bit mixed. The other factor is Barca was down a man, who knows if he would have got burned if it was 11v11 as the match wore on. Either way he’s getting valuable experience that our other candidates don’t have against top levels talent. We do have a number of players now at RB and LB there’s no excuse to not play a back 4.

Yes but that's how you get good by playing when you are raw and then a franchise has a player they can depend on for a decade. Serie A clubs are addicted to the transfer market and as the Premier League and oil clubs have made transfer go to astronomical heights instead of adjusting with youth they try to wait for free transfers or make relatively large bids for good not great players. If you are a good team you won't lose because you play a young striker/attacker off the bench.

If you don't play at a high level between 18-21 by the time you are 22/23 you are an old rookie that is in a make or break situation and a year away from not being young/with potential.

Every sport in Italy is modern but Calcio we have accepted for years oh this is just italy but this is not the case it is the fact that all the worst actors and corrupt people have been drawn to calcio for a century and try to bleed it dry.

Good post. No one is saying the guy is Maldini prime. He can be a bit goofy at first site and he makes errors, but he makes up for it in work rate and character. He also has a great crossing ability. Like you said, he’s one of the few Italians now playing at the highest level. This is experience that is too valuable.

Ruggeri was also immense in Atalanta’s EL run. A lot of people forget those performances

there is talent in Italy it just needs to leave so it can learn to play at a high tempo and in a back 4.
Astonishingly we could be in a world by 2028/2030 where most of our 11 does not play in Serie A.

    Leoni
    Kayode
    Inacio
    Mane
    Natali
    Chiarodia
    Rugerri
    Reggiani
    Udogie
    Calafiori
    Tonali
    Della Rovere
    Koleosho
    Donnarumma
    Tresoldi?

and who knows who else by then.

Ruggeri on the left Palestra on the right, Scalvini and Calafiori. In some alternate universe.

With this seemingly darkest moment, there is incredible opportunity. If I had a position with any power, I would be more motivated to move ahead and work on changes.

This is one of the greatest opportunities for calcio ever.

while the world fans and media are busy clowning us at what is now past failure, we have an incredible opportunity to work on changes ahead while no one is really paying attention. While we must work on changes regardless, we have a chance to do it when everyone else is too busy laughing and screwing around in the usa

Because we have better LBs, that is why.

Sorry guys but if he didn't provide an assist, you would of never heard of him yesterday. It's funny seeing so many people posting about him when he is an average player.

Ruggeri has been having a good season, not sure why he's being criticized.

Calafiori, Dimarco, Spinazzola, Bartesaghi, and Bernasconi are all have a better season player ratings wise. I've criticized him bc I've seen him get burned way too many times defensively for my liking. It's like having Dimarco play as LB. Ruggeri is a great crosser but a lot of our guy excel at that too but he is not great at progressing the ball up the field which is what we have lacked. Like I said, Atletico were a man up, if he didnt produce that cross, he wouldnt of been mentioned here imo.

Cholo is a great coach but he plays terrorist ball too, which is not what I want for us.
