Yes more or less..the south american 10 was always more of a midfielder than the Italian 10 but this is because they played the 4222 so you are right what was a 10 then in brazil would be a winger now or simply be coached out of the pro level.

This is why Brazil has struggled to adapt to the modern era almost as much as Italy has despite the fact that they still produce sheer volume in terms of players their midfield the last 15 years has always been second rate.

I'd love this to be the starting line up of all where fit.
Donnarumma, calafiori, buongiorno, leoni, kayode, ricci tonali, barella, chiesa, kean, retegui.
My squad if all fit would be
    Donnarumma, carnescchi, di gregorio
Bastoni, buongiorno, coppola, leoni, calafiori, scalvini, kayode, udogie, cambiaso, barteschi, di Marco, tonali, barella, ricci, piselli, casedei, verratti, grifo, chiesa, orsolini, tresoldi, kean, retegui, pio esposito, berardi. I think that is a really good squad.
Players I never want to see play again for italy are mancini, di lorenzo, cristante, locatelli, politano, scamacca, raspadori, zaccagni, Maldini. All dead wood and not good enough its that simple. I would consider calling in the future the young lad honest when hes gets his passport next year, palestra definitely soon, ruggeri, camarda, also would have to have a look at pinamonti and borelli. Does pellegrino from parma qualify for italy I like him. Caprile to get another call up as well in the future. Under 17 goalkeeper one for the future lontini as well. Mandragora an option as well. Fiorentina are doing terrible so it's hard to.call him.now really. Any series b players.anyone knows of with a big future ahead of them that could make it to the national team.

He would be lucky to get called up to the U21.

    ?

Why would he? Wouldn't BVB call him to the first team first since they see him everyday?

He is playing for Italy;s youth team so I'm sure he is in their plans.

Isn't that the entire point of the outh national team so he can play with the nazionale maggiore one day?

Bernardeschi is coming to life for Bologna now that he is starting. Would I pick him for the national team? When you have second-rate players like Raspadori, Zaccagni, and Politano on the team then yes. After Chiesa, Orsolini and Berardi....I really don't think there is anyone better than him at the moment at LW/RW...he's an option IMO in a 4 3 3 or 4 2 3 1. Could even play as a wingback in a 3 5 2.

His size, athleticism, and technical ability are superior to the players Gattuso keeps selecting. He can take corners, penalties, and free kicks. He was a contributor to the Euro win, and his physical attributes suites the modern game. Little slow guys like Politano and Raspadori don't make sense anymore. Unlike Insigne, Berna was pretty good in MLS. He was on a shit team, but individually he played well. His header yesterday was beautiful.

I am glad Bernardeschi is landing back on his feet.

Other than making a ton of money, neither he and Insigne did much playing for Toronto.

i don't think it would be wise to play a player who plays for the youth team of a club.

No not now I mean if and when they qualify.

CT's traditionally, have picked 17-, 18- and 19-year-old players for their final rosters at the WC tournament.

I doubt he would be any worse than what is avaialble.

Of course they must qualify first.....

Yes I don’t support or dislike Brazil, but in my opinion they need to rediscover the withdrawn free role 10 that was allowed to express himself on the ball

Camarda a year after leading the Italy U17 to glory, he is now a main guy for our U21 team. I can see something similar happening to Inacio. He is special.

I'm not sure I can hate Como more. Other than a 35 yr old backup keeper and Alberto Cerri, they have ZERO Italians on the pitch or bench. It's so bad. All that Indonesian money was useful for buying Spanish and Argentinian players. WTF.

Zaniolo with another goal ..its funny how many problem children we have that made bad career decisions or had big injuries the last 4 years and now with no time to experiment are all coming good and playing well/better.

Scamacca Chiesa Berardi Zaniolo even Bernadeschi are more talented than a lot of the players that have been called and along with Orsolini Cambiaghi Kean would give us the depth to play a 433 without having to use Raspadori Zacagni Politano..but really it feels almost too late.

Bertola has also impressed me for Udinese as a strong RCB that could be useful. He seems to have a higher ceiling than a Gatti or Mancini.

    Milan vs Lazio

I thought only the best foreigners came to play in Italy. Toma Bašić cant even handle a (pun not intended) basic 1-2 that allow Milan to score their goal.

TBH, and believe me I really could care either way as I have no dog in this fight but I thought that should have been a PK at the end. Pavolic was making himself bigger by moving his elbow out when the ball was struck towards goal. But Red ruled he was fouled which caused that. Boh.

Palestra with another strong game for Cagliari. At 20, he seems to be getting better and better.

Yes his ceiling seems to be above the likes of Belanova/Cambiaso.. maybe he is the next Zambrotta.
