The way the teams play in Serie and the way Serie a is set up is the real problem. 532 formations with refs that allow diving defenders stopping the play 30 times per match is never gonna translate to international sucess, not on club level or the internationals scene. Inter are the one exception because they have built up experience in europe, but they have also signed foreigners that can play at a high tempo.

Gattuso isn't going anywhere until this phase pans out whether it be not qualifying or qualifying and crashing out in the group stage of the WC. Whole federation needs an overhaul, Baggio had it right all along but no one (in the federation) wanted to hear it. We'd stand a better chance if we actually called up players in form but I just don't see that happening.
