I think AI could have picked a better lineup today than Gattuso. I'm glad you all have come around to the fact Scamacca is a soft weak-minded loser. I don't get the point of this lineup today. We should play our best players, get ready for Norway, and get ready for the playoff.
His post-match comments are horrifying. everything he said basically spells out playoff disaster “If you were expecting an 11-1 like Moldova had against Norway, then that is not my problem. There are no easy matches.” Yes, we expect your players to destroy Moldova and for you not to think we might lose to them.
Scamacca does not work for the Azzuri. Neither does Raspadori. As for the match, I have never seen so many bad corners. The corners were so painful to watch. The biggest worry I see, is that we really struggle to break Moldovas defense in a low block. Any team that has a disciplined defense will absolutely crush us by sitting back and hitting us on the counter. This is because we lack creativity going forward. When Politano, Esposito and Retegui came in, it was clear that they are crucial. We also desperately need Kean. Without Retegui, Kean and Esposito all healthy our chances of going through are ZERO. Also I was one of the few on here who defended Spalletti. Obviously he had to go as he lost the locker room. But there is not much improvement. In addition, I wanted Mancini and I understand why this is a controversial opinion. But I believe he would have been a better choice. That said we have to support Gattuso and hope things will work out. But I am seeing some very worrying signs.
