    RB Depth

Floriani Incoming? Even more why I absolutely hate this move seeing Savona going to a bottom half EPL team. Gatti can play at RB as well.

yeah I did a deep dive into some advanced stats and there is no option but the 352 we have really good ball playing centre backs Bastoni Buongiorno Scalvini Calafiori all have fantastic numbers and Calafiori is actually great clearing the ball with his head if you ask him to defend. Make a back 3 of those 4 anyway you can simple as that. Coppola actually had among the best pure defensive stats in all of Europe last year it's absurd that Milan did not go for him but he is not someone you want on the ball.

Our wing backs Di Marco Cambiaso Belanova are near the top in europe in progressive carries dribbling and chances created Di Marco is only 2nd to Hakimi in terms of creating goal opportunities but Cambiaso and Belanova are better overall players by a lot.

Rovella Tonali Barella Ricci are very solid all round midfielders Rovella is very strong defensively and a good passer. Tonali Barella are among the best B2B midfielders in the world ...funny enough Locatelli is one of the best progressive passers in the world while also being very strong defensively he just dosen't create anything or attack the goal but he's a very good midfielder. Kean Retegui Scamacca Raspadori and hopefully Pio are all good forwards. Orsolini and Berardi are our only good wingers by the numbers. Raspadori's numbers are surprising as his non penalty goals per 90 are very high the last year but he's a terrible dribbler so I have no idea why Spalletti tried to use him as a number 10.

It's just not there to play a 433/4141 or whatever it is. In the end we just need to qualify for our pride but the only way for us to be competitive for the foreseeable future is to use wingbacks and two strikers with a 3 man midfield. I don't think the FIGC picked Gatusso with this in mind lol so oh well let's see how it goes.

Udogie and Calafiori are our only fullbacks that can play at the top level in a back 4 no one at RB.
Udogie is actually a very good defender and can carry the ball very well he just dosen't create anything and can't cross all that well.

  3. Has there been any talk about Luciano Valente in Italy?
Van Hanegem is very upbeat about him.

It's really not that difficult who should be our starting RB/RWB.

    The man Pep wanted:

    Andrea Cambiaso.

Yes his passing stats dribbling stats and progressive carry stats are fantastic. His defending is still maybe not great for a back 4 but maybe if you player Calafiori Buongiorno Scalvini Cambiaso it could work.

But in a 352 he should be the first choice on the right even if Gatusso wants to play his 442 just play Cambiaso at RM instead of Politano he's the better player in every respect.

    Question:

I know Simone Zaza he hasn't played in 3 years but does anyone know why he retired so young?

Was he injured or was it something else?

Just curious because I can't find any information online or on wiki.

I watched the whole Cagliari match, Palestra had a pretty solid game, this is a great team to be on for some of our youngsters. Esposito was also fairly decent, this Cagliari squad is actually pretty good by their standards, would much prefer if Piccoli was still around with the Gallo.

Palestra another promising wingback from the Atalanta academy also on Atalanta at LWB Bernasconi looks interesting reminds me of Cambiaso. I suppose Palestra can play RB as well hopefully he can develop into an option to replace DiLorenzo.

I wonder how Camarda did I haven't had a chance to see any of his appearances yet. H keeps coming on at the 65th minute. He's getting ok match ratings but playing Lecce I feel like he's juts going to learn how to defend.

Camarda does more in 20 minutes than the other guy in 60. I truly don't understand this foreigner obsession, the proof is thrown in your face each match but they still prefer them over Italians.

Riccardo Orsolini scores a pk in the 98th as Bologna beats Genoa!

That’s his 67th goal in Serie A for Bologna!

He's been left out of the squad today. Rumor has it Milan are making a bid for January. I'll believe it when I see it.

Piccoli might have doomed his career by going to Fiorentina. I’m all for Italians taking the step up, but in this case it was the wrong step. Giulini even admitted that the only reason they sold him is because they didn’t think anyone would pay the asking price. More proof that Prade has no idea wtf he’s doing.

Cagliari have a decent project now. I could have very well seen a scenario where Piccoli stuck around and they fight for a conference spot

A 17 year old has taken his spot on the bench and in the Champs League. Chiesa's time in Liverpool is over. It'll be time to make that move to Turkey in January.

I can’t understand how Chiesa decided to stay there. It’s inexplicable. It’s not that we read somewhere that he pushed hard to make a transfer during summer. He had to move away! I am not sure he can make the World Cup squad if we qualify even if he leaves Liverpool in January.
