Watching the game against Estonia made me really believe for the first time we will qualify to World Cup with one way or another. Gatusso may be the one we really needed to spark that fire again! Players seemed to enjoy the training sessions before the game for the first time after Mancini’s initial era that gave us the Euros. I am not referring specifically to the final result (5-0) but to the whole thing.I hope I am correct!
I get it in the sense that he dosen't want to change too much after a 5-0 win but wants to be more solid at the back to you bring in Locatelli and Mancini. Di Marco did make the cross that opened up the game when it was 0-0 but if you are going to play him you need a CB that stays home as a sweeper so it becomes a choice of either Bastoni or Calafiori. I would prefer Calafiori at LB I would even play Calafiori and Bastoni together and let them alternate with their runs but it's nothing that should hurt you to play Mancini.
I agree I don't even fear a playoff. It's just what needs to be done. Teams do it all the time the psychological block of losing a playoff needs to be ignored the team just needs positive energy. You can only be unlucky so many times. If we get a fair shake we will get through. If we get a top 10 side in the world in the playoffs you just have to laugh at the world cup format.
How was this lineup made public some 3.5 Hours before Kick Off? I've only seen Lineups released 1 Hour before.

I think its crazy to start Di Marco over Calafiori, otherwise not a bad lineup. I love Locatelli with Tonali and Barella in midfield.
