Excluded acute damage to the central nervous system and the cardio-respiratory system. Tests to be continued.
Saw the piece of video when Bove fell. Was crouched down near Dumfries, I believe. Thought at first he was attending to his right shoe but he wasn't t. Clearly he was not right, got up, and stumbled forward a few Meters when he fell over again. Terrible.
************************ Thiago Motta given funds and all the players he wanted and he still is at Max Allegri levels. Ridiculous team.
Glad to see Atalanta put down Roma. Roma are a joke and Baldanzi needs to get as far away from that disaster as possible.
Forza Bove indeed! Spalletti basically just said Camarda is the future but he most likely wont be coaching him. Hopefully that lights a fire under Camarda.
The Bove situation is tough. Hate seeing that. I personally thought Bove had been a top-5 midfielder in all of Serie A this year. He has been playing that well. This is a real bummer for him and his family. I'm just glad he's alive and ok. Tons more tests to do. There is speculation that low potassium was a contributing factor but we'll see. If it's structural then his career may be over. UGH
over many years we have seen these terrible scenes on many pitches in many countries at various levels. Sometimes they even happen on the practice pitch. or worse, off the pitch. And of course these events end in many different ways. Unfortunately, in Italia the wrost case scenario has been realized multiple times. But in this case, what a job by everyone involved who helped Bove, staff and medical. Right now, the only priority is to rest, monitor and test test test. The medical team must obtain as much information as possible, this is the only thing that matters right now.
I thought Orsonaldo was great last season and is once again on form this season. Really most seasons whenever he was allowed to play. I am sad he is in his prime and my not fit into a position in the Nazionale setup. But I am also aware he may just not fit the tactic.
I think one factor that is not spoken about much with regards to our difficulty in producing top class attackers in recent times is that since Conte in 2011 Serie A has uniquely been dominated by 352 formations while in Europe the inside forward and winger really took over from the CF and SS. This means two things one while our youth teams still play with wingers the wingers have very few teams in Italy to play in and two being one of the few wingers is very difficult when you are constantly coming up against a LWB and LCB. I think if we discard injuries the likes of Bernardeschi Chiesa Orsolini Canvdreva Politano Zaniolo Berardi Insinge and a few others would have had far more success if the tactics of Serie A were not as they are. Even someone like Leao struggles to put up numbers in Serie A as a modern winger. The best example is Salah who was a 7/10 for Roma and became a generational 10/10 RW almost instantly at Liverpool. It's really hard to know how good a Orsolini or an Ortsiano or Maldini really are. And if we are going to commit to a 352 then at youth level we need to stop playing 433 and focus on producing CF's and number 10s because a lot of these guys simply don't fit in the Serie A. I have no doubt that someone like Insigne would have reached a world class level had he been Spanish.
I for one don't know what each Italy Under teams are playing. I do know for sure towards the end of Mancio's tenure he had all NT youth teams play what Italy was playing at the time -- 4-3-3. A simple online search on it will get a hit or two on the story. At the time I thought it was comical that he's having some players years away from being on the team fit a system that they may not even play in. Each team should play to it's strengths, be it the U17's or the A team.
