Best of the weekend: Orsolini, Fabbian Falcone Lucca Di Gregorio, Savona, Gatti, Cambiaso, Locatelli Bianco, Maldini Carnesecchi, Bellanova, Retegui Ricci, Comuzzo, Ranieri, Bove, Mandragora, Kean Magnani Dimarco De Sciglio (!), Viti, Pezzella, Colombo, Pellegri (best showing of the season) Dossena Del Prato Pinamonti Pellegrini, Zaccagni, Rovella Luperto A lot better from the Juve block this week after being terrible vs. Parma. The Napoli block throughly humiliated by Atalanta. Di Lorenzo played his worst game of the season after a string of very good performances. The Fiorentina block continue to do very well. Both Lucca and Maldini logged in good performances despite their team’s losing.
In order for Pinamonti to get on the senior team, he has to outperform Lucca. Retegui is cemented as the #1 and Kean has qualities that make him more than a CF.
I agree. And since they both have 4 goals this year, Pinamonti has done more considering he's on a far worse team where service is harder to come by IMO. Lucca's height probably gives him the nod in Spalletti's eyes all things being equal, but Pinamonti is pretty good with his head as well.
I agree all of a sudden we have strikers in the pecking order. But I agree as well, Pinamonti has been saddled with poor clubs, poor service, and questionable managers. Although Gilardino seems most promising.
Pulisic's Dad is half Sicilian American he grew up with a Sicilian Nonna from Brooklyn. It's all we got here lol. I respect that he's learned Italian pretty well though. He's the heart of the team. I was always a big Mlan fan in European competition but man besides Serie A pride it's hard to root for them right now.
Brutal, And Madrid have 1 Spanish player. But take a look at the lineups for 90% of the champions league teams today....at most their are 2-3 domestic players starting.
No italians and we defeated the European champions in madrid?? Meanwhile, juve needed a pk against lille
Milan are italys best euro team. Always have been. Berlusconi DNA still swimming around the Milanello ( amongst other places)
Didn't even need the God himself Jovic. With Jovic as sub he would have scored injury time fourth because he could.
of course it's just common now. there are basically no top teams with a block of players from one top nation at the moment. Barca yes but they are mostly kids but that's the exception. Milan were supposed to have Tonali and Donnarumma for years so thats too bad. Anyway such a great win. I love the new format it shows that the CL is far superior to the Premier League. When you have teams that mostly win all their games clashing these teams like City and Real Madrid can be brought down to earth.
Zaniolo was offside every single time he was available for a pass. Absolute bonehead. He scored on a giveaway, which is nice, and after that he actually started to press with a little effort. Gasperini is smart, so he must think Zaniolo can play center forward, but he doesn't look like someone who can lead the line, or stay the f onside against a competent backline. Very frustrating player to watch.
nice week for Serie A in Europe. a lot of teams are of a certain quality Serie A itself is also just difficult. of course teams like Milan and Juve can improve a lot especially with new managers and young cores but it's certainly better than it was years ago. In fact I can't recall a recent year where all 3 of Inter Juve and Milan had a shot of being in the knockouts at the same time. It's always been one of the 3 giants plus a Roma Napoli Lazio Atalanta etc. We are still not there but when/if Juve Milan Inter can all be contenders to at least go far in the CL we will really see the leagues strength again as complimentary teams Atalanta and the like are not going anywhere anytime soon.
Convocati likely announced tomorrow. I don't expect any new players to be called. Chiesa, Calafiori out due to injuries, Pellegrini could be dropped given his and Roma's form.
