None of our forwards would get any playing time at Liverpool. Chiesa is easily better than any of the wingers at Milan not named Pulsic.
besides the Italian thing it's great to see Serie A clubs like Atalanta Bologna Fiorentina modernize and even mid table clubs like Monza and now Como among others bring exciting projects to the league. When Udinese was constantly a top 6 club they really were a blight on the leagues progress. I don't mind them and the way they do things as lower mid table club they still bring some competitiveness to the league but their model just screams dire early/mid 2010s dark era of italian football.
All the conditions exist for Chiesa to succeed at Liverpool. They play a style of football that suits him (way more than Juve last year and more than the Italian national team currently.) Salah is on his way out, and in theory he’s the programmed replacement. (Not easy shoes to fill). Injuries aside, if he’s not training well, or the level is too high and he’s homesick etc etc, then Italian fans need to stop thinking he’s this world class phenomenon.
100% agree but this is where I blame his management that overpriced him for Juve. Premier League clubs have the money to derail a quality player. He is not what he was and should have never been advised to go to a team that has so many options. He looked good when he did play. He quickly got an assist and created plenty of chances. Anyway I guess let's see what comes out. It's reported he is going to sit down with Slot to discuss his future. But yes he is not anywhere near world class for me. He is simply a very good 27 year old in his prime that never reached his ceiling because of injury. The reality is when you leave Juve and they don't really rate you it's impossible to really make a lateral move let alone go higher. It's like he was convinced by his agents Liverpool or Barca was going to be a promotion and Roma was beneath him. Not unlike Dybala Roma was probably the kind of club he would have been suited to.
Orsolini has been playing a lot better after a rough start to the season 1852745075823898667 is not a valid tweet id
Terracianno starting ahead of Emerson and Calabria at RB is interesting. I forgot that he is ambidextrix.
Old Man Morata can't head the ball if his life depended on it. Camarda watches while he rots on the bench. So sad.
I agree that there's no reason to pick Chiesa, today, but people on the board talking about he's finished or past it are being ridiculous. We all have seen what he's capable of, and he was very good for Italy when they were on shakey ground with the Euro qualification in doubt. Chiesa came out ripping goals against North Macedonia, which doesn't sound like much in hindsight, but he really set a tone and quelled the palpable sense of dread going into that match. I believe in the guy. I hope he finds a better situation next year, because Italy is a better team if he's on the squad come tournament time.
Anybody catch the Newcastle/Arsenal match, today? Tonali came on as a sub, which hasn't been the case for most of the season. I'm curious how he did.
No decline. But too many wasted months as written earlier. Typical EPL and Northern European football mentality. Lack of fitness? Used to call the EPL the huff and puff league. All about running 100 KPH, getting stuck in, curry and a fight? Chiesa's characteristics of high intensity suit the EPL just fine or and league for that matter. By all means, Slot to field his best team as he sees fit, but the vagueness about his situation is wierd. Listed as a "knock" but Slot only speaks of fitness. Which is it? Bald idiot.
Chiesa's best is better than Pulisic's best. To boot Chiesa is more exciting. But this is not a comparison between the the two despite what I just wrote. Both players have missed an enormous amount of time due to injury or lack of faith. Pulisic was down before and now is reaping rewards for time put in -- good for him. Now Chiesa is in the dumps. This won't last forever, no way.
I didn't watch any football today but not surprised Tonali didn't start as he played 90 Minutes midweek in the league cup.
The difference in level between the respective clubs aside, I'd rather live in Lake Como over Liverpool.
Not sure but he did play the entire game for them against Chelsea a few days ago as a regista for the first time and lots of people said he was the man of the match.
Its only 1 guy in here dissing on Chiesa so I wouldn't even bother listening. Chiesa is a star and was are only dangerous attacker in the Euros. If Chiesa was on his Milan team, he would instantly start, that is what is funny about it all.
https://sempreinter.com/2024/11/02/inter-target-ricci-bertola-maldini-younger-more-italian-squad/ Milan really going to let this happen? Does the squad have any self pride left?
Well done to Inter if this is their plan, AC Milan can focus on loading up with foreign hacks like Loftus Cheek
Interesting news out of Serie B; Di Marzio is speculating that the FIGC might try to poach back Cristian Shpendi from the Albanians. Shpendi is born and raised in Italy. He said at the beginning of the season he would be open to receiving an offer for joining the Italian U21s. He’s currently leading Serie B scoring with 6 goals.
Thanks for sharing. Inter is doing things right, and the Azzurri are reaping the rewards. This would be a contination. I don't know anything about Bertola. Can you enlighten me on him?
