Calafiori’s eagerness makes him prone to mistakes

yes exactly in a front two behind a a target man he is a really tricky player unfortunately few teams play with a front two at the moment which is why maybe Milan with their 442 could be a place for him.

We are very chaotic. It serves us well when we have possession, but not so much when we don’t have the ball. The backline is a bit of a mess. Fagioli is not doing well either

for me, PKs are acceptable when teams are playing positively. I think this is the case here.

Retegui missed one for club I believe in the CL. But he has made many at club level also. Here he has scored for Nazionale from the spot. He remains a perfectly valid PK option until proven otherwise.

Very up-and-down half. Could've scored a handful of times, but also gave Israel some really good chances. Need to tighten up some of the ball-retention. This team is a little too eager to keep it going forward, all the time, and it gets them caught on their front foot, and they have to scramble against counters.

Part of me wants to see us score many this second half. But part of me knows just keeping control and steering a shutout would be a job well done too and important for these players to see.

    Half.

Pretty chaotic half. But we’re deservedly ahead. Glazer made some fine saves. This game is a good example of how Calafiori and Bastoni can potentially not be a good defensive couple because they both want to play higher. The middle defender has to be an anchor. I’m not liking Calafiori today. He seems to be reckless sometimes.

Fagioli struggling too and showing why he is not a regista. He is a great passer, but he’s either a mezzala or a #10.

I would like to see Buongiorno for Calafiori and Ricci on for Fagioli

Califiori just needs to know when to make his runs and when not to he's usually really good at reading the field but today I think he's seeing his name in headlines a bit. Hopefully he does not buy into his own hype too much because his gift is something he really has to use sparingly.

funny enough I've been using him in Efootball with offensive instructions and I keep getting caught because I want to make spectacular runs with him out the back so hey I get it.

Fagioli not having a good day, does he play consistently with juve? I don't follow them.
I'd like to see Maldini at some point.

yes Locatelli was playing more first few games and Motta has preferred Fagioli lately.
he's been very good for Juve so far but so has Locatelli.

Do you think there is any possibility Calafiori's outside back role at Arsenal could confuse him in moments playing a back three?

nah Califiori Bastoni were a highlight of the Euro's they can play together in fact they give us a massive advantage it just requires a high level of concentration to play the way they want to play.
Spaletti is instructing them to play this way they were just a little sloppier than usual first half.

I think Califiori is the modern Costacurta he can play CB RB LB LWB CDM he's that good but he's also looking to make big plays /runs and teams will begin to hone in on that as a way to counter attack.

the reason why he is such an asset is when attacking its not really a 352 he tucks in and pushes up into midfield which really gives us an extra weapon. it's fluid but again requires a lot of concentration.

he's so good at this role. you want your regista to be big and strong these days he really is another Rodri. You can see the difference right away. I would like to see Fagioli in the Raspadori role before writing him off but I can't see him starting over Ricci.
