Yes Locatelli’s form justifies a call up tho we really do have depth at the mezzala position. Pellegrini should be replaced with Baldanzi but I think Baldanzi needs to fully bench Pellegrini at Roma which he will with time.

And yes I want Maldini going to 2026 for the kit alone.

I've been beating the drum forever to try Calafiori on the right side and Arteta listened to my advice and played him as a RB the entire second half vs PSG. Please pass this on to Spalletti, so we don't have another Darmian LWB style incident. Speaking of inverted sides, Bellanova played as a LB vs Como in the 2nd half.

Also really don't want to speak too much about the call ups, not having Locatelli and Gatti is unacceptable in my eyes. He clearly has beef with Locatelli and won't call him on the squad anymore. Gatti should be starting RCB but we sadly know who its going to be. Good to see him calling up youngsters, but Baldanzi definitely deserves a chance especially when you look at our attacking options. Pellegrini and Jack have done shit but they are also Spalletti's boys, I'm done talking about this crap.

    - Yeah, and I was right behind you about trying Calafiori on the Right. Only difference when Arsenal did it versus PSG is that they played 4 in the back.

    - U21's have a crucial window here. Baldanzi is with them.

    - Not sure if it was when the EC squad was named or maybe last month but there was a report out that Locatelli and Spalletti had a falling out. That is to say his exclusion is not football-related. FWIW, Loca and Mancio also didn't along towards the end.

Regarding Okoli, Leicester plays at 10am Eastern today, and Okoli is starting at left CB.

Daniel Maldini only needs to score 24 more times to surpass his dad's 33 , 26 season career goal total.

Paolo once said even though he was a defender, he liked to stay back and hardly ever went forward but “should have scored more than 33 considering he played in 902 games”.

What a way for Retegui to head into the October int. window.

My only disappointment with the squad is no Lucca. I think he should be integrated in the group because he brings a different dynamic to the striker position, one that Italy simply hasn't had since Toni. The attacante di peso that can stretch the defense and be a reference point for the CBs. I think having this option would make Italia more dangerous and some teams would not know what to do with defending it, being a forgotten tactic that is still potent because teams usually only have to worry about defending players trying to walk the ball into the goal.

I would cut Slowmogrini, and ban him from ever being called up again for being slower than Jorginho's worst day. He's the only clown in the setup this month. We've got to stop calling up clowns and Spal is almost there...

Retegui is a old school finisher he just needs to be on a side that creates chances. hes part Vieri part Inzaghi part Batigol.

    CF's

Aside from Retegui, the other 3 leave a lot to be desired. Even if Jack Jr and Kean can play either CF and SS roles. Agreed that either Lucca or Cutrone should have been added.

    CB

Okoli was called up in September but didn't get Minutes. Because of that I could see him play before Gabbia does.

    EPL

Calafiori and Okoli went 90 Minutes today. Tonali over 70. Chiesa still ruled out with the knock -- ********.

Want Chiesa and Barella back in November.

Spent a few minutes on Arsenal socials. By and large it seems like their fans are happy with him (duels, passing, seems to be everywhere, enthusiasm) but some are taking exception with his lack of foot speed. Really shouldn't be a surprise afterall as it was his Manager at Basel that switched him from a LB to a CB because of his speed. But what does Arteta do? Plays him as a FB.

@Azzurrifan87, Bastoni would be serving Lucca crosses on a silver platter. I hope Lucca continues to produce, because he could be a real asset for Italy, as you described.

he’s consistently been ratted among the top 3 performers whenever he has played. I think soccer twitter one just likes to find the negative and while yes he is not a speedy wing back type Arteta is not asking him to be.

hes playing as an inverted fullback that tucks into the CDM role the CB role and at times the LWB role. He can’t both do this and cover the lest side but Arsenal have let in very few goals when he has played. Arteta is using him as a jack of all trades weapon that is impossible to really mark.

Cagliari started 7 Italian's today. Quite the contrast to some of the teams Ranieri put out when he was there.

EDIT: earned a Draw and came within a goalpost by Piccoli from winning it in Added Time.

How did Chiesa's replacement Mbangula do? Good job Giuntoli.

The game is way more physical than it ever has been and combined with the top players with 100 games in a season between club and country and here we go

Juve was trash today, again solidifies why Locatelli is staying home. Gatti was decent.

Meanwhile Empoli up 1-0 against Lazio, Esposito has been great.

Juve played better when Locatelli was on. All of Cagliari's better play occurred when he went off including their goal and post.

Bologna vs Parma: 2 Italians each.
    Lazio vs Empoli: 5 each.

Can always expect them to be the GK and a Defender. Barely better than Udinese and Milan and that's not saying much.

God damn, is Tommy Pobega hurt again? This kid can't catch a break. Vincenzo Italiano seems to not rate Fabbian as high as Motta did last season. I lol @ Dan Ndoye who plays excellent for Switzerland but goes back to being trash when he plays for club.

When a lousy player like Emerson takes your spot.

Many Italians in the fiorentina 11. Some youngsters too
