Has there been any recent news on what Bruno Metsu is doing? I haven't heard anything in quite awhile.

Last I heard, he went to to a club, and wasn't positive about returning.

Bruno Metsu went to a club in the United Arab Emirates where he promptly won the UAE league title.

This was after his contract was terminated his employer, the Senegalese government (not the federation), who did not want to grant him the leave of absence.

In his stead, they hired Frenchman Guy Stephan to head the national team.

Halfway through the qualifiers for African Nations Cup qualifying, Senegal are 2nd in their 3-team qualifying group 8. They are on 4 points, the same as neighbors Gambia. But Gambia lead on goal difference (+6 to +1) following their record 6-0 win home to Lesotho.

Gambia and Senegal drew 0-0 in Banjul in late March. Gambia's remaining two matches are away and Senegal's remaining two are at home. The group will probably be decided when the two teams meet in Dakar on 22 June. Unless Lesotho pulls off a shock result.
