I like Clinton to win with a knockout early in the second round, unless Dole gets to bring his pen into the ring.

Oh, they're going to debate. That's much less interesting.

Bob Dole is a very honorable man, and Bill Clinton is well you know what he is.

Clinton cheats on his wife and they stay married and work things out. Dole screws around, tosses his wife aside (but pays her just enough to not complain), and upgrades. At least Dole had the sense to mostly keep his mouth shut about the scandal and not try the Henry Hyde statute of limitations argument.

    Nope, that's wrong too.

You have to go back to FDR to find a president better than Clinton.

    That's almost 60 years!

yee-GADS, things get awfully surreal 'round this forum!!! best possible take on viagraman is that he's essentially clueless. liddy runs the show, and she is SPOOO-KKEEE!!!
i'd actually give some props to a repub pres (who knew?): ike, who correctly predicted, and vainly warned against, the "military-industrial complex." the following pub prez's have uniformly been morons, psychotic, or (ain't we got fun?) both. not that the dems have been a whole lot better, to be sure.
back to the topic of the thread: the bidness right wing debating the religio right wing. that should sure prove enlightening!!

    Clinton/Dole Point-Counterpoint.

Clinton: Tax cuts for the rich is a return to the failed economic policies of the past. In my eight years in office we manage to balance the budget ... etc. etc. ... put 100,000 new cops on the street ... etc. etc.

    Dole: Bill, you ignorant slut.

I give JFK #3 after FDR and Clinton.

    My order

    1. FDR
    2. Clinton
    3. JFK
    4. Truman
    5. Johnson (for his civil rights)
    6. Eisenhower
    7. Carter
    8. Ford
9-11. Reagan, Nixon, Bush the elder (3-way tie for second to last)
    12. Bush the younger, who might be the worst president we've had since Grant. No, make that the worst president we've had. Ever.

You and irishFS1921 are giving JFK WAY too little credit for dropping the hammer on Marilyn Monroe. That gives him extra points in my book.

    Yeah.

Aside from (in alphabetical order) Bush I, Bush II, Ford, LBJ, JFK, Nixon, and Reagan.

Carter too, actually. He was bad, but at least he didn't sell nuclear secrets to Communists.

    I'd put:

    1.Reagan
    2.LBJ
    3.Nixon
    4.Ford
    5.JFK
    6.Bush I
    7.Carter
    8.Clinton

Can't fairly rank Bush II until his term is up.

Indeed. The man who was the only US president to ever resign is his number 3.

    Wow.

According to Bill Maher, we should positively judge Bill Clinton because he was obviously so busy working for the country that he only had time to settle for plowing trailer skanks.

Nixon made some very, very bad decisions, ones that ultimately marred his administration, but he was all in all not a bad President. Remember that he pressed forward with a policy of "Vietnamizing" the war (ie, gradually removing American troops while at the same time providing enough aid so that the South Vietnamese could effectively defend themselves--aid that was cut off by Democrats in Congress), established a policy of detente with the USSR and China, did a lot for federal cancer research, and also did much to enforce the integration of public schools.

Nixon was not a great President, but he was not a terrible one either.

(It should also be mentioned that he's not exactly up against the strongest competition here.)
