I'll admit to being biased. For me the seminal moment was Flanagan sweeping in a thumper against Spurs. A player who most had seemingly been forgotten. That goal reverberated all the way to the Academy and gave hope to a generation of gifted youngsters.
For me, it was January 28 against Everton. We had been in first at Christmas, and were now in fourth, with Everton and Tottenham coming after us. First the Captain with a great header and then Studge ripped the Bitters apart with a brace in three minutes. Then when they might have had some hope to start the second half Luis put them away. Everyone began to really believe then!
Aye that be a good match. It highlighted the lie that we would fall away. Bad penny, wallet and all that.
I admit it! I thought you wanted to know if we all masterbated while the match was on. As though watching Gerrard hit a rocket somehow triggered a (seminal) moment Then I realized that seminal moments are not 'quite" the same as seminal fluids. Never mind...Carry on.
For me it was Skrtel's second goal in the 5-1 win over Arsenal. At that point, up 2-0 11 minutes in when it coulda been 4-0 at that point, the rout was on, and we would win 11 straight.
For moments it's gotta be this one. I really believed then that this was going to be a different season. And it was. But have to throw in a shout for Manure away as well. That was the day that I realized we weren't just on a good run of form we were a good team. To completely dominate them when we weren't at our best was the turning point for me. I now expected us to win matches rather than hoping.
