With the quarter-finals behind us it's now time to look forward to the semi's.

Cruz Azul vs. Puerto Rico Islanders
    Santos Laguna vs. Atlante

The match-ups are set, who will win now? I for one hope the games are as exciting as Santos vs. Montréal. :)

I voted for Santos Laguna on nothing other than the fact that I think they played a higher percentage of starters than the other semifinalists did. (not counting the islanders they have no chance)

Picked Cruz Azul since the beginning. Don't see why I should change now. The question is, will Cruz Azul finally lift a Trophy again?

COMUNICADO DE PRENSA 8 de marzo de 2009

    PARA DIFUSION INMEDIATA

    PR ISLANDERS FC

Los cementros should win it, hopefully they'll do better on the CWC than el "equipo de sudamerica" (pachuca).

    I wouldn't count out Atlante.
I really didn't think they would get through houston but they proved me wrong.

I don't think they have a good enough team to do anything in the CWC, the other two do though IMO. I personally would like Cruz Azul to win it because of their importance historically in the Mexican league.

Puerto Rico has more heart ;)

It will be a tough game series but I think we can beat Cruz Azul. The final will be won by either Puerto Rico or Santos, end of story hehe.

Maybe in Puerto Rico, but the altitude, pollution of Mexico City, and the atmosphere in the stadium will be tough on Puerto Rico.

Well... lets see... back when we lost in Torreon, the Islanders played with their reserves... hmm why was that again... oh yeah... they were going to play the USL 1st DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP (the True National Soccer Championship of US/CAN/PR) on the next saturday in VANCOUVER...

Why in Vancouver? cause thos SOB's stole the championship! Well thanks to the Owners now we have a 2 game championship!
