Hopefully if we fail again at U17 then we will get a whole new youth set up. The u17 tho don't really care as much about because size plays such a big factor in it. At u20 most the guys are grown and playing professionally. You can see better if they will be good or not
My memories of world cup u-17 are good........in 2009: arias, murillo, cuellar, fabian castillo, stefan medina and cardona that was injured.... in 2003: guarin, adrian ramos, armero and zapata
The only problem I see in these competitions is the fact that many players that play in the u-17 are often at disadvantage, because they are a year younger when they reach u-20 level. So if you have a moron as coach(e. Piscis, Lara) they will probably go with physicallity over technique to try to compensate the lack of experience. It would make more sense if the sudamericano and all the tournaments were 2 years apart, u-15, u-17, u19., Not that one year leap that usually screws a lot of players. They could even squeeze an u-21 cup there like Toulon.

Mediocre at best. Garavito (right Back) seems like a solid player. Perea, Gutierrez and Gomez were decent. Didn't like the wingers nor the left back, Mejia, who as far as I know is a midfielder but apparently we aren't able to produce a single decent left footed player in a population of 50 million people. Colombia draws the game! Barrero scores from a lobbed pass from Brayan Gomez. And we turn the game around! Scores Peñaloza, the right winger with a left footed long distance shot. 1-2.
Bueno, Acaba el partido y ganaron 1-2. El resultado es justo porque el gol de Ecuador se lo comió el arquero. El primer tiempo estuvo mas igualado, se tantearon y se pudieron ver los tipicos errores de estas categorias, muy precipitados y tirando todos para adelante. Mier a pesar del gol me parece que estuvo bien, salvó 2 opciones claras de los ecuatorianos y tiene buen saque de puerta. Garavito para mi fue el mejor jugador de Colombia, es un lateral muy ofensivo pero que sabe cuando llegar y muy inteligente para marcar. De los 14 jugadores que tuvo Colombia hoy en la cancha creo que es el unico que yo pondria a jugar ya mismo en un equipo profesional. En el lateral izquierdo, como les estaba contando, el técnico utilizó a Robert Mejia, un volante de contención y probablemente el jugador con mas experiencia del equipo. El man no desentonó pero viendo su capacidad de crear juego seria una pena que lo siguieran poniendo en esa posición. Los centrales tuvieron sus cagadas, Balanta me recordó un montón a Amaranto, asi que ya mas o menos se pueden imaginar que tipo de jugador es. Gutierrez es alto y juega bien con los pies, pero toma unas decisiones horribles, por ejemplo, pasarsela al arquero cuando hay 2 ecuatorianos a metro y medio de distancia... Esto también es aplicable para el otro. Para mi la linea del equipo mas solida fue sin duda el mediocentro, ambos destruyen juego e igualmente salen muy bien con el balón, un poquito mejor Perea que Lopez por consistencia, pero Lopez probablemente sea el mejor de los dos. Los extremos me parece que fueron de menos a mas. Martinez tiene una gran capacidad técnica pero no cuenta aún con la potencia para explotarla. Peñaloza de momento es el mas determinante de los dos porque es el que esta mas desarrollado físicamente y maneja bien las dos piernas, le falta ser mas generoso, si este man y Garavito se empiezan a entender podrían ser nuestra mayor amenaza en el campeonato. Brayan Gomez hace todo bien, sin embargo, fisicamente le falta, sobre todo con estos ecuatorianos a ratos se vio desubicado completamente, merito de ellos, si, y no había mucho que Gomez pudiera hacer. Muy creativo, activo y eso si, no se escondió nunca. Barrero es un buen delantero, se sabe desmarcar y explota muy bien el punto ciego de los centrales, tuvo 2 opciones de gol y metió 1. Entraron Campaz (delantero, buen regate pero tuvo un remate al "arco" vergonzoso), Moreno y Palomeque.
