    hoy gano bolivia

On Wed., Bolivia beat the reserves from River Plate 2-0. Castillo and Vaca scored.

Bielsa said that he will probably start Aimar-D'Alessandro-Saviola. Pretty scary.

It looks like Acosta is going with a 4-4-2 with Suarez playing once again in the midfield. Hopefully he can stretch the field a bit. Acosta seems to be a big fan of Miguel Mercado from Bolivar. There is even talk that he may replace Botero.

Acosta criticized the team calling them a team "comodo" basically taking a swipe at the dirigentes at letting the players out 4 days later than originally planned.

Mercado is Hot in local liga games
    Botero is not with Pumas....

IMHO

The FBF are idiots. They recognize all of the things that Acosta is complaining about. He only mentioned those things in public, because he has hiw own name to salvage. Making those excuses later would be seen as excuses. Castedo and la Liga are upset because they are made to look bad and it is their fault if we get trounced by Venezuela.

gut wrenching loss. it literally made me sick.

i predict nelson acosta will resign this week. his lack of an opportunity to train with the players showed during the last twenty minutes of the game.

I can take some comfort in knowing that Bolivia played well or either Venezuela played like an equipo de barrio. Bolivia lost its concentration for the final fifteen minutes. One would think grizzly veterans like Sanchez and Sandy would play better than that.

I can also take some, a little, comfort in knowing that it is still early. If that was the game to determine whether we qualified for the WC, then I seriously would be crying still.

    The formula still remains:

    1. Win all the games in La Paz
    2. Win @ Venezuela (crossed off list)
    3. Hope Brasil and Argentina win every game except for the games in La Paz.
    4. Make sure Acosta coaches through his contract (if another national coach enters the picture, then we are dead meat)

Cristaldo is hurt, Gato scares me, Botero needs to be the man.

I just hope the frickin' FBF leaves Acosta alone to weave some magic.
I'd like to see Joselito Vaca get out of the MLS and mature...

Baldivieso certainly is the X factor, but he continues to show signs of apathy and being terribly out of shape.

Sandy and Sanchez are not the short -term and especially not the long-term answers. The team needs to develop Ricaldi and Raldes.

Percy Colque may return soon and that brings some relief.

I would go with a 3-5-2 against Chile

    Gato

    Ricaldi, Pen~a, Raldes

    Colque Justianio, Vaca, Baldivieso, Ribeiro

    Botero, Mendez

    Baldieveso? n' Links

Baldivieso... Do you guys really think Acosta would put him back on the line-up after just plain old didn't show up for that friendly at RFK. Acosta had to get other players at the last minute, Acosta wasn't too pleased.

Also for the person asking bout Botero a month back http://www.facetasdeportivastv.com/

is a killer website they follow all Bolivian players abroad Pena in Spain, Botero and Castillo in Mex, Cabrerro(sp?) in Paraguay, the Bolivan League (now on GOL TV!) and other footy things, and non-soccer sports as well...
    also go to www.clubbolivar.com and

click where it says "Real Audio" and then you'll have 4 other "deportes links" and for radio fides click to http://www.panamericana-bolivia.com - I think "funny season" has started all ready. Even though the tournament hasn't ended yet.

hope the youngsters do good in Chile, Vaca and Castillo are playing.

Oscar Burgos on Univision DC reported that Nelson Acosta might resign as coach because his wife can't handle the altitude of La Paz.

*Yawn* This is the weekly Acosta-will-resign rumor. Most likely they got the story from the Bolivian press. Facetas Deportivas, for some reason, even though they do a good job following Bolivians Abroad, are so biased in their reporting. It is obvious that they want Acosta out. Probably because Acosta does not subscribe to the whole regionalist attitude. It's simple Sra. Acosta will move to SC and El Pelado will go to La Paz when necessary. Problem solved as reported earlier this week
