true ,all the bolivian papers keep delaying on telling us who the new coach will be, every week the candidates change, i also have a feeling itill be aragones again which i am not fond of. we need a foreign coach, and because of money problems, the fbf would settle for a domestic coach.

another problem is that durring qualifying some of the club teams in bolivia wont lettheir players go and if they do, the send them off a day or two before the match, we need a solid team that needs to get acustom to playing with each other, unlike last qualifying where we had almost a differnt lineup every game.

i cant wait to see the first game against uruguay this, will tell us if the bolivian national team isready or not

i used to wonder why platini sanchez was never too fond of playing for la seleccion. i have seen how dumb the federation is now.

we need the players in europe (only sanchez and pen~a)..in order to raise the professionalism of the team. we cannot rely on the same scrubs in the past, and the only way to see who and what works is by playing friendlies.

the game against portugual the 10th will basically be bolivar playing a friendly against portugal. ridiculous. i don't want it to get to the point where the FBF will say, bolivar is our national team.

Argentina's Dalcio Giovagnoli, coach of Cochambamba-based club Wilstermann, said on Monday he had accepted an invitation to lead the team temporarily for the match in Lisbon on Tuesday week.
Giovagnoli said he would base his squad on players from Wilstermann and Santa Cruz-based club Oriente Petrolero in the face of the Bolivar boycott, which began last week when coach Vladimir Soria turned down an offer to lead the national team against Portugal.
Local media said that Bolivar were boycotting the friendly after club president Mauro Cuellar fell out with the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF). Other La Paz-based clubs, including Bolivar's rivals The Strongest, are also reported to be joining the boycott.
Speculation is now growing that the FBF could retaliate by moving Bolivia's World Cup
qualifiers, due to start in September, from La Paz to other venues.

I think the FBF is an embarrassment to Bolivian futbol. They should all either resign or be fired and replaced by people who have the best interest of Bolivian futbol in mind. They are so busy fighting with themselves and the club teams that everyone suffers.

    BOLUDOS!!

    otro secreto

Scolari expects Bolivia to provide tough challenge

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari warned his players to expect another frustrating night when they take on Bolivia in a friendly on Tuesday.

The Brazilian watched his side play out a disappointing goalless draw with Paraguay at the weekend and expects Bolivia to be equally tough to beat.

"Bolivia is a quality side with good ball control, but when they leave home to play, mainly in qualifiers, they close the game down," Scolari told TSF radio.

    News
Acosta said yes and could sign today
    2003-06-12

The 4-0 loss against Portugal last tuesday has speed up the process to find a new coach for the Bolivian national team. Uruguayan Nelson Acosta is now only one step away from being the new coach of the Bolivian national team. He has already said yes to the job, but there are few thing to settle before he can sign the contract. First, there's the economic part. Acosta wanted 20.000 USD per month and 10.000 per month for his two assistants, but the Bolivian Football Federation(FBF) has before said that they will only pay a maximum of 5.000 per month. Acosta agreed to lower his wages to 15.000 per month and now waits for the reply from the FBF. Acosta also wants the FBF, the leagueclubs and everyone else to work together and help the national team reach the World Cup again. His current club, Chilean leagueclub Cobreloa, is already looking for a new coach.

lets hope this deal goes on like they said it will.

Bolivia's new coach Nelson Acosta is due to take up his post on Saturday and the prospect has left the federation's directors full of optimism.

"It's the first time that a coach of the standard and class of Nelson Acosta will come to direct the Bolivian team," said Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) president Walter Castedo on Thursday.

Acosta, born in Uruguay and a naturalised Chilean, led Chile to the second round of the 1998 World Cup in France.

Who was left off: Gonzalo Galindo and Marco Sandy (age and performance declines), Mauricio Soria (psychotic), Joselito Vaca (forgotten man playing in the MLS), Jovenes (Mojica and Guzman, Vaca Diez - their time will come), Hugo Suarez (the best GK Bolivia has, but is slowly returning from a hernia injury), Diego Cabrera (playing in Paraguay now, was outstanding for the Strongest until Mauricio Soria kicked him off the team for laughing when Soria slipped and fell).

Surprises: Leo Fernandez (has not played first team futbol in quite a long time due to contract problems), Coimbra and Arias (are without a club), Ricaldi (currently my fave player at Wilstermann, only 21 years old or so...and came up from the junior squad and has played outstanding in the defense).

Up and comers: Limbert Mendez (really has made a name for himself, was never really considered for the NT until this year and in La Paz, where he plays, he can make a difference against Colombia), Ronald Garcia (the only one who didnt seem overmatched against Portugal).

Who should start (in my opinion):

GK: Fernandez (until Suarez is back in shape)/

Def: Colque and Ribeiro, JM Pena, Raldes, Sanchez ( i hope someone comes out ahead during training to claim their spots alongside Pena)

MF: Baldivieso, Gutierrez and R. Garcia

F: Mendez (vs. Colombia), Castillo (vs. Uruguay) and Botero
