First of all I apologize for my long previous comment but more importantly for not using paragraphs. I won't judge if you guys didn't read it....anyways here's the interview I was talking about which to me is the great difference between sopegno and kenton. ...they both see our weaknesses but kenton genuinely sees solutions ... enjoy

Well remember that friendlies have tend to eliminate our almost nonexistent confidence lately....hopefully our players can get up to speed by then since most of them no hicieron pretemporada and haven't even play with their respective teams and there's less than a month left for the games....to say I'm slightly worried will b a massive understatement

On a side note here's the prospective roster for the U 23 eliminatorias. ...I know this is not the right thread but since the forum seems not be as active I'll post it here anyways

How f-ing sad is that? Ranked LOWER than a team we are used to beating easily.

I had that exact same question. The news says the suspension is just says MLS play, so I would assume he could get called up.

BTW, Guate women Sub-20 lost 3-0 to Panama, meaning we're out.

There's some interesting prospects but we lack a #10.....sequen should've been the one but he's still injured........the starting lineup will either be a 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 and the style of play will be similar to u20 in jamaica.....we lack speed and some height especially goalkeeper if
    3-4-3
    ----------------'----Padilla
    _____pinto___estrada___saravia/kevin
    _jimenez_garcia__de leon--- robles
    __portillo/elias----longo-------andrade

*interesting that the forwards ruiz picked all have remate de media y larga distancia......
*de leon is the only one who also plays for the seniors as oppose to honduras who have like 3 or 4 players who play for the seniors
*look out for estrada the future libero of Guate and the youngest of the group(18 next month)....I also hear good things about the mid garcia

He still doesn't have a guatemalan passport. ..if we make it to the next round he will most likely be part of the roster

Looks like Gordillo and a few others were left off the list. Really hoping we do well against Honduras. Aun que sea empate, pero empate con ataque y tiros al arco.

    53min Guate 1 - Honduras 0.

Guate took advantage of a slow pass back to the keeper to score the goal!

    65min Guate 1 - Honduras 1

I saw some highlights of the game, Guatemala played good when they were winning but then coach sent them to defend, how the hell do you win a game like that. I don't understand why Gordillo, Ruiz from FC Dallas wasn't also included, hopefully we'll have Jonathan Top vs Belize or in the next round

I was looking through highlights and found a great interview with Walter claveri and I wholeheartedly agree with him. I honestly don't know how well he can translate his ideas to the players but judging btw he speaks about positional play, transitions and to find an identity that can exploit our strengths and minimize our weaknesses and his work with youth ......I feel he should be the one to replace sopegno for Qatar 2022 once Sopegno's cycle is over

It blows my mind how ass backwards our top flight league is. Every country that has professional sports leagues is ALWAYS looking for young players to take and improve talent. Yet all we do is constantly look for old players to keep recycling.
