im italian, but seedorf was always one of my favorite players, especially with Inter.

he seemed to change his style a bit with AC milan,
playing more smart ball, less attacking, but hes still great,

is it true he was off the national team squad?

    Yes, it's true.

Might as well use this Seedorf thread to discuss what he said after the Ajax match. :D

"It's too bad for Holland, that I'm not playing for it"
"We're not Spain, France or Brasil, we don't have hundreds of (talented) players that can play for the national team"
"You should cherish what you've got"

I think he should have picked a better time to say these things, than right after one of his worst performances. Meh.

I also liked when he said it's becoming clear that Holland doesn't have enough talented players besides the old guard, showed by them not being able to qualify directly for the Euro Cup. When it has been this old guard with 'so much more talent' than the players now breaking into Oranje, which fu©ked up the last qualifying, and which played a big part in this qualifying as well. Meh #2.

I wont be suprised if it turns out that you are Seedorf imposting as Marco Borsato :p

How can you have Seedorf as one of your favorite players, how can you even like him?
Seedorf; who cant do anything good on the field and who still cant understand why nobody likes him... makes me feel sick when hearing him about hisself.

Btw give Leotine a kiss from me.

hey so why do europeans keep mentioning this Marco Borsato.... i heard he's some dutch singer or something.

im italian but grew up in canada, i know most borsato's are from Treviso (north east italy), and have immigrated to canada, argentina and austria , but i didnt know there were any in holland. whats this guys deal...

of seedorf, yeah he has an attitude problem, but i like what he does in AC milan, always with the smart pass, i wouldnt mind seeing him attack more but theyve got enough guys like that,

hes right about holland, too much old talent that couldnt get along with eachother, and new talent has proved up to snuff....

Dont put down the Netherlands, young talent is plenty but they dont get a change in the national team. And does Seedorf even know he is one of those old talents?

Robben, van Persi, van den Vaart, Sneijder, Collen etc... they are all beter then the likes of the Borings Boers and the attituded Seedorf&Davids.

Ummmm - isn't Seedorf is the only player in history to win three Champion's League medals?

Strange isnt it? Im still breaking my head on that, I can only come up with this: It takes a team to win a medal...

But it isnt really good :p Seedorf still plays like a wet paper doh.

Isn't Collen Belgian? Or are we talking about a different Collen? I'm talking about the one that plays for Feyenoord.

I used to like Seedorf's control and passing of the ball, but due to his preformances for Holland as of late, I'm becoming more anti-Seedorf as the days go on. I've read interviews that he has had, and his ego is just through the roof. They ask him about his poor preformance in a match and he replies, "I won three champions leauge titles with three different teams, who else has done that? It seems that the titles just follow me around." Granted, he is a great player from a technical point of view, the passing is there, the fitness for sure, the hustle... on some nights, free kicks he's pretty good at, but when I watch him and hear him, he's always talking about himself and how teams could be better with him. Seedorf, listen to yourself and shut up for once.

I feel that I must defend my man. Does anyone remember the Argentina friendly? Obviously Seedorf can be an effective player with the Oranje; he was the man of the match against a solid opponent. I think that Advocaat plays him far too wide. Seedorf is not, and never has been, a winger. Inter tried to make him a winger, and that failed. If Advocaat wants to play him on the wing, they he should play Van der Meyde or Sneijder. Frankly, he's playing out of position on Advocaat's Dutch team. He's a central midfielder, where is passing skills can be used most effectively.

If he good enough to start for three European Champions, then he's a damn good player.

The last times he started against Ajax he was about the weakest on the field. Totally out of place.

Your right Seedorf has played poorly this year and has in fact been replaced by Kaka in Milan's starting eleven. But he did play well last year and in time he will regain his form and get back into the squad. Leaving aside the whole ego thing, many players have huge egos but as long as they are helping you win who cares?, Seedorf is probably the most versatile player in the world. He can fit into any team and almost any position on the field. I haven't watched much of Holland lately but it seems that whenever they play they never play Seedorf and Davids together. To me that would be the perfect central midfield pairing.

I don't like big ego's... win or lose. Nobody over here does. Seedorf has got to have one of the biggest ego's I've ever seen.
