The attendance is limited to 80 people. Please email me at marcin14@yahoo.com with the names of all people attending to make your reservation. Wait for my confirmation before you come (you'll probably receive it in a mass email bundle at the end of the week). No prepayment is needed; the entrance fee will be collected at the door. If you prefer to telephone, call me at 815-293-0715 (do not call the restaurant) and leave your phone number (or email) for confirmation. Once the reservations are full, I will announce it on BigSoccer. If you need to cancel your reservation, contact me ASAP or you may risk shunning from Section 8 propelled by a flare or a smoke bomb (not your choice). In addition, I will hold you responsible for your $20 on an honor basis. The Money The entrance fees will be used to cover the expenses of tifo during the 2003 MLS Final (we only collected $100 at the pre-game breakfast; the extra stuff cost something of the order of $450), the cost of organizing the party (small) and the tifo for the home opener (you won't be disappointed provided the Soldier Field management allows us to use it). The financial report will be provided in the future. I plan to do it regularly on the section's website section8chicago.com . Website Please see section8chicago.com for details, hopefully it will have all info within a couple of days, provided Ben (the current webmaster) gets it up and running. Yours, Marcin
Networking Since we have very little time, please let everybody know about the party ASAP! I want to see all familiar faces there! If you have any items that you want to sacrifice for raffle/door prizes, please let me know ASAP! Anything is good so we can raise some money. Examples: former season ticket holder gifts you did not wear/use, Fire t-shirts and other apparel (never worn), Fire lunch coolers, soccer balls (Fire and other). Ben or everybody: do we have a tape/DVD of last season Colorado game that we could show during the party? Any other favorites that you would like to see?
I don't know about anyone else but I am preparing to have a party like it is the year NINETEEN HUNDRED NINETY-NINE!
Andrew, I take it from your bloodshot eyes and wild talk of "parties," that perhaps you had a few too many of Mr. Grahm's "crackers" last night. Oh well, you young ruffians will do what you must. Marcin, I plan on attending. I will email you as well. Flynn
I need a party like this in the worst possible way. What I will get is a space-theme birthday party for my 4 year-old son. Have a couple for the Iowa contingent.
no zach?! no mac?! no liam?! what is this? you all need to re-prioritize, it's the only good thing this winter.
i know, but i have had plans for a bit on this weekend. i have to be in minnesota on friday and then cards and drinking with the college friends in NW Wisconsin on friday and saturday nights. if it was anther time, i would have done it. but can't change the plans to accomidate a person or two. that wouldn't be right. next time.
Well, I may have plans, but I'll know for sure later this week. I don't want to take anyone's spot who is sure to go. Plus I hope I can hold out cashwise. When a girl wants to make plans, those usually trump, unless it was a game. Ideally we'd both come but I dunno for sure. Andrew, got it. No idea man, I didn't move it.
I guess this means that MDSC is going to have to drink twice as hard at the party. Marcin do you think that someone could bring a VCR and TV. I can bring a copy of Hisporia O Psie to show everyone.
There is a plasma TV there and another regular tube monitor and a VCR. Everything is set! However, it should be "Historia o psie" !!! according to the Polish vocabulary and grammar. Marcin P.S. Reservations are going well! Please make yours ASAP so you don't get disappointed if I cannot fit you in! You BigSoccer folks have an advantage because you knew first. The ad on the Fire webpage will only show up today.
Oh man! are you sure? Because from where I'm standing it looks half empty! Oh jeez, this is just one more thing for Flynn to worry about. Why does it always look half empty to me?? Why??? ...Hey can I also add in these thoughts: Mac-- the influenza is going around. call in sick. Andrew-- did you know that Carl has a MLS highlights tape where Hristo scores a goal and then does "the fisherman"? He's old and crazy and all, but it was funny. Also, maybe we could just put on "Three Peat: the story of the Bulls Third Championship." "Pippen to Grant, Grant double-teamed down low, kicks it back out, Paxson is wide open and Pax for threeeeee!!!" Talk about a slam dunk.
