Incidently, I saw it a few night ago after having waited a bit (working at a video store, I can only rent new releases 21 days after they come out [for free]). The preview presented it as some sort of dark comedy, but I saw it more as a drama/dark romantic comedy (not quite the same). Decent, but not what I was expecting and a little boring to be honest.
I wanna see it because it was the inspiration for one of my headshots. The photog asked me if I'd seen the movie, I said only the preview...he said think seductive like that.
I'd have to agree with you here. The nature of Lee's submissiveness was pretty compelling, but half way thru the movie I found myself wanting to kick Spaders ass and taking Lee home and taking care of her.
my roommate rented the DVD a couple days ago. i was (from the commercials) expecting some romantic comedy ala any Meg Ryan movie. but it was alot more twisted. i didn't really like it. but there is an explanation. the whole movie me and some buddies were just waiting for the lead actress to get naked. and when she did towards the end, the DVD starting skiping. total bummer. at least the movie place gave us our money back.
