https://tv.dfb.de/video/5-spieltag-staffel-nord-nordost-alle-spiele-alle-tore/23022/ Goals start at 1:31. Both cleaning up off deflections, nothing too impressive but good instincts to be there for them.
Geez, everytime I check, he has scored again. Apparently, the kid finds himself in the right spot all the time, kinda like Ruud van Nistelrooy.
With 6 league goals, Soto is currently the third-leading scorer in the U19 Bundesliga North/Northeast. The only two ahead of him are Norway youth intl and RBL U19 striker Noah Jean Holm, and Germany youth intl and RBL U19 winger Fabrice Hartmann, each of which has 7 goals.
Yeboah also has 7 goals, majority of sources are not fully updated. Could be others that are either there or close. at the end of the day, it matters little where one is in the scoring table. Its about your club in this case Hannover and opportunities there. Like I posted before Gross last season had 20 goals and 4 assists in 24 games and was 2nd top scorer of the U19 Nord/Nordost and he was in Hannover II but seems to have left in Au 31 for whatever reason.
https://tv.dfb.de/video/6-spieltag-staffel-nord-nordost-alle-spiele-alle-tore/23102/ Goals are here. Highlights for Hannover start at 1:22. He cleaned up on the first goal with a nice diving header, would have been an assist if the first guy had buried it. Assisted on the second goal with some nice hold up play. Nice first touch shot in the direction the ball was traveling from to wrong foot the keeper. Didn't seem involved in the last two goals.
Here's a comment I found about him from a German Hannover forum.. Sebastian Soto, our newcomer from the USA, comes in 6 games of the A-Junior Bundesliga North to a whopping 6 goals and 2 assists in 6 games. These are absolutely brilliant statistics, especially since the boy turned 18 only 2 months ago !! If I had to guess which junior player width would be the next to first team training, I would clearly bet on Soto After that, it would probably be Marusenko (ZM-IV) or Gloster (LV- LM)
https://www.worldfootball.net/goalgetter/a-junioren-bundesliga-nord-nordost-2018-2019/ Now that he has 8 goals, this makes him the leading goal scorer in the Junioren Bundesliga North.
I think Leipzigs' Fabrice Hartmann has 9. Would be curious to know if Gladbach offered him a contract and if so, why he chose Hannover
Hannover 96 U19s beat previously undefeated St Pauli 2-0. Soto got the first I'm pretty sure, maybe the 2nd. EDIT: Based on one random German twitter account it sounds like he had the brace.
Before this game started, I said to me myself: If he scores multiple goals in this game then he is for real (at least from a prospect standpoint).
Holy crap... amazing scoring rate from this kid. By this time next year I could see him and Sargent playing Bundesliga minutes.
Soto doesn’t always score but when he does it’s always a brace kid is on fire that’s 10 in 8 or something like that.
Unfortunately not a brace, sounds like the first goal was credited as an own goal https://www.fcstpauli.com/news/die-...nnover/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
I said the same thing to myself. He's now produced against a perennial top-three finisher in the region (Hertha) with a brace and an assist accounting for the first three goals in a 5-0 pasting, and now he's scored to help knock off the top team in the region at the moment (St. Pauli). His ability to produce clearly translated from the Development Academy to the Junior Bundesliga. Now hopefully we'll get to see if it translates to the U23s!
I just got a little curious to see if this is unusual for him to be scoring like this, and I found his USSDA profile that indicates he scored 73 goals in 57 games in the last 2 USSDA seasons for RSL..... That is absolutely extraordinary. Including these games now at Hannover, he has something like 83 goals in his last 65 youth games. That's unreal. Get this kid away from the youth level. He's ready for the next step.
@zlebmada had a great interview with him on the Scuffed podcast. He only started playing striker a couple years ago; prior to that he was a midfielder. I think that variety of experience has helped him technically and in his off the ball movement.
https://tv.dfb.de/video/7-spieltag-staffel-nord-nordost-alle-spiele-alle-tore/23215/ Goals start at 2:40. First was the OG, didn't have anything to do with it but if the cross had gotten through that's his goal. Second was a decent finish if not the prettiest I've ever seen. Really good play from his teammates to set him up.
Soto scored again yesterday as the U19s advanced to the Semifinals of the Sparkassen Pokal. They beat JFV RWD Rehden 4-0. Soto's goal was in the 70th minute to make it 2-0. I doubt we're going to see any highlights though. https://www.hannover96.de/aktuelles/news/details/23837-u19-erreicht-das-pokalhalbfinale.html
