They don't work. Why do they even bother having a link on their homepage if the webcasts never work! Seattle-Portland playing right now, A-League.com has links to both teams webcasts. Portlands in delayed as per usual until nearly midnight when we all know everybody will want to tune in, and once again Seattles doesn't work, with no reason given.
Should we also remove the name "Vancouver" from the a-league page? It doesn't appear necessary in the new "FC era."
What does that have to do with what I posted? Don't tell me you are offended because I feel a link to webcasts that don't exist is unneccessary and a waste of time. Grow up.
Before the game, I heard the Sounders PR person asking someone to go help with the radio hookup for the Timbers broadcast. I wonder if there were technical problems with the phone line (again).
This is getting old... how many matches does it take to get the damn webcasts working? Was it just down, or were they broadcasting something else? Have to wonder if the over-the-air KKNW broadcast was also messed up.
There was nothing. The player that comes up tried to buffer then said "try again later". Trying again later did nothing. As for the Portland broadcast, it was delayed because they chose to ran a talk show?
Might be worth dropping KKNW a message and see if it's a known problem or not. If no one lets them know, they'll probably be oblivious to the fact that there's a problem to begin with...
Supposedly the game was taped delayed on the radio at 11:55pm which was only about an hour after we got home from actually being at the game in Seattle. I think the Webcast sitation is beyond repair in Portland. They waited to the last minute to reach an agreement and according to the woman at the radio station they don't even have a schedule of the games there. Do any teams provide any sort of matchtracker updates? It isn't as good as radio but I would think it would be cheaper and more reliable just to have a communications dude type in some updates on a fan board.
Don't know how it was with dialup, but with a LAN connection here at work, the webcast quality was superb -- no drops or anything. Hopefully this is a sign that things will be more reliable in future.
Yes it worked for the first time last night, and it was clear and excellent. There was a buch of us listening and chatting on a-league chat during the match.
