lol I just looked on FB and people there are saying it looks like the Starbucks mermaid. I can see it now, what with the hair going down the sides like that and the crown. X-D The Portland joke site wasn't so far off after all.

I was about to say it looks like the Starbucks mermaid too. The helm feels Nordic though.

The Seattle Royal, would have been more appropriate for it.

I personally think the logo is fantastic. Great job, Seattle.

Actually, like the Thorns, my first reaction is ??? and my second is, "Hey, that's cool."

The Thorns logo was an "instant" classic.
This Seattle logo is in the process of slowly growing on me.
It doesn't have that "WOW" factor to it immediately like the Thorns logo.
You should feel very honored to be a diehard Thorns fan.

    Portland got the better logo.
Seattle may still end up getting the better team (we'll see).

Thorns seem a little too attached to the "FC" part. I think of the team as Portland Thorns FC, home of the Thorns. I see Portland Thorns FC and Thorns FC as two separate full names of clubs. [/brandinggeek]

    Go the Thorns!

Upon seeing the PTFC logo, someone said it looked like a sphincter and very 90's and I can never unsee it now so... At least Seattle's is pretty unchangeable, Starbucks aside.

After competing for teams in four cities and two countries to play professional-level soccer, Seattle Reign goalkeeper Michelle Betos hopes that the new National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is more stable than the two previous pro women’s leagues.

Washington Spirit-OL Reign game has been canceled because of “breaches of the league’s medical protocols by the Spirit.” This one is officially declared a Spirit forfeit and a 3-0 Reign win in the record books.
