I saw that Sam's Army has selected the Seattle Youth Hostel as the Hotel of choice. http://www.sams-army.com/index.php?Mlist=event&Mid=32 Hmm.. this HAS to be better than that flea bag Henry Hotel that was down in Miami for the USA/Argentina. Hmm.. then again, I don't think that hotel was selected by someone from Sam's Army was it? What an absolute DUMP that place was. (Got pictures if anyone wants to see) See you in Seattle. Cheers, Bill
I believe that The Henry Hotel was recommended by some Screaming Eagles who were trying to help out of town fans. They did their best but it turned out to be a horrible dump by all accounts. We walked by it while pushing the pram around South Beach. I could not recommend a budget hotel in South Beach. I recommended the Miami Youth Hostel, the Clay Hotel, which was fantastic; 63 dollars a night for a private room with bath, balcony and TV. Spotless and freshly painted. The Seattle Youth Hostel is also outstanding. Private rooms run 70-80 and one has a private bath and kitchenette. The dorms are also nice. The location cannot be beat, near Pike Place Market, the ocean, and nice bars. You can walk to the stadium from the hostel.http://www.hiseattle.org/main.htm Hostels are not always the answer. I have been extremely busy but I am having difficulty recommending a place in Houston for the Mexico game, if it comes off. The excellent hostel in Galveston http://www.sandpipermotel.com/ is pretty far from the stadiums.
just use the internet. hotwire, priceline, whatever. you'll have no trouble getting a nice place at a reasonable price...
I got the Springhill Suites, a Marriott property for about $70 a night. Good 3 Star hotel and close to PPM and Seahawks Stadium. Other choices are: Sixth Avenue Inn Travelodge Downtown Executive Inn Seattle Inn Ramada Downtown Travelodge Space Needle Residence Inn Downtown Lake Union Courtyard Lake Union ...and several others. If you don't mind staying 1/2 hour away, the airport hotels are numerous and a bit less expensive, there are also several properties in the Bellevue area.
Don't know about the Seattle Inn. Stayed there once on a roadtrip for my college team and it was disgusting. It looked as though they rented rooms by the hour according to the conditions the rooms were in. The showers were covered in fungus and mold, just an overall place that I didn't trust to be disease free. By far the most disgusting hotel I've ever had the displeasure of staying in. This was nearly 6 years ago now (damn, I'm getting old) so things could have changed for the better by now.
I'd pass on the areas around the airport (outside of maybe the Red Lion) unless drugs and 2 bit hookers are your thing...
Where ya guys sittin for the game anyway? I've been trying to figure this one out for a while. Just might go with the $20 seats.
You can buy tickets from the USA Supporters at http://www.sachinshah.net/pages/soccer.htm Not sure where they are in the stadium K
Marriott Radisson Doubletree West Coast Gateway and Airport Hilton Wyndham Holiday Inn Hampton Inn Are all good to very good airport area hotels. If your talking about the Valu-Inn and other fleabags like that I understand, but there many nice hotels near the airport. Kevin
*slaps self on the head* Of course! If I get them directly from US Soccer, would it cost any less if I were to get them off of TicketMaster?
If you bought them from US soccer then they probably aren't in the Sam's Army section (as those orders are through the Sounders). K
Sometimes I wonder if folks here are just tolling? Or that they just don't have access to the internet? sheesh... http://www.sams-army.com/index.php?Mlist=event&Mid=32 See where it says: Ticket Info: To order, call the Seattle Sounders at 1-800-796-5425. Mention that you want the SAM'S ARMY SECTION when calling. Tickets are $18 each ($2 off the regular price). Your seats will be in Section 148 (172 endline seats directly behind the north goal), moving to Section 149 when the demand warrants (additional 136 seats). A one-time handling fee of $2 per order will also be charged.
Yeah, that's what I meant. I worded my sentence in a weird way. I really despise TicketMaster. Excellent. Just need to get a head count of how many tix I need and I'll see you guys in a couple of weeks!
