Say I plan on going to 10 or more games next year which would cost $150 or moer, or I got a season ticket for $240. Is it worth it to get a season ticket? Do i get many US games or international games included? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you attend more then 10 games, you mind as well get the season tickets. You get every soccer game that is played at Gillette (exception this year in the WWC). You also become a member of the Center Circle club, and you get discounts on merchandize. In the past they had an event for CC members called "Meet the Revs". They didn't have it this year and I was extremely dissapointed.

With the season ticket package we get four other games which change form year to year but will include the first playoff match and over the next two years most likely National Team world cup qualifiers.. Other example, ManU might be coming back to the USA next some on a preseason swing and it's possable they could play one of their matches at Foxboro---these would be some of the four extras you would get as a season ticket holder.

I've been a season ticket holder from the beginning. These days I'm living in PEI and only come down for about 2/3 of the matches. However, I've had no trouble finding a home for my unused tickets.

Seing a season ticket holder is a good deal, Come on aboard.

They didn't have meaningful discounts or merchandise. In the past they had a 20% off coupon, but no more.

Does anyone think that Meet the Revs will be back?

I've been a STH for 4 of the past five years, but this year, I think I'm going to have to crunch the numbers. If the TnT bobblehead is the big prize, I get a bad feeling.

The one thing that would lure me back immediately would be the ability to exchange a ticket I wasn't going to use for a ticket at a future match.

    Ditto...

I intend to tell my ticket rep that this is will be a very big factor in deciding about 2004 STs.

Find someone to split the tickets with. That is what I do. Of course that means we pick the games that we are going to go to before the beginning of the season. In addition, you do get the couple 'special' games and, usually, first 'dibs' on other events, not all of which are soccer related.

For example, we were offered the chance to buy tickets to the Bruce Springsteen concert this past year. In years past, we were provided the opportunity to buy tickets, at our season ticket discount, for the US vs. Netherlands friendly, the first WWC the men's world cup, etc.

It gives you the seats at a discount, a couple of special events at the same price and the opportunity to get tickets to special events at you choosing.

I would agree that some of the perks have certainly lessened recently. Like the 'buy extra tickets at the discounted rate to games', missing the 'Meet the Revs' is a disappointment (especially when they appeared to have finally gotten it right last year).

Forgot to mention, the buy 'tickets at our season ticket discount' for FIFA events means something a little different...we got discount off of list, but not always for the amount we paid for the per seat, per game season ticket price.

It will be interesting to see if Gillette Stadium plays host to any of the early WC 2006 qualifiers, that and/or those matches as part of the Champions League tour.

This is a no loose proposition for both the ticket holder and the Revs. You almost guarantee increased concession sales and in addition, might be introducing someone to the stadium or professional soccer. In a previous post someone mentioned that this had been discussed with the Rev's management and that there was concern that the policy might be abused. I just don't buy that argument. What's the Rev's risk here... some extra handling - at the most? They already have the money up front for the tickets.

I miss my day of game discout ticket purchases the most. It was a nice incentive to get some last minute friends to come out. That was half the reason I had seasons to begin with. I would re-up right now if they offered that again or the "ability to exchange a ticket I wasn't going to use for a ticket at a future match".

Somewhat unrelated, but there was an ad on the radio this morning for 2004 season tickets. Of course, there's nothing on their website...

From my point of view season tickets to the Revs have the following value....

1.) The cost per game is less, in my case about 18%, from $16 per game to $13.

2.) I can buy an unlimited amount of additional tickets at the same price up to 24 hours before any given match. I agree that the benefit should be extended to game day as well. It would certainly help last minute decisions by extra folks.

3.) One playoff game is included, again a significant savings, about 40%. I presume that had there been a second match that the same prices would apply.

4.) Added internationals. This gets tricky since it completely depends on your interests. WC qualifiers are a great value, barnstorming Champions World games really aren't, at least for me. Santa Clara vs. the Rhode Island All Stars (or whatever) really isn't either. Benfica vs. the Revs or Celtic vs. the Revs would be. It all depends on your interests. For some, the Champions World series is a big plus. For me, the DC/Revs match was the draw.

I would say, that with the WC qualifiers on the horizon that season tickets get to be a better value than they have in the last year or two.

5.) Other values. For me a bobblehead is worthless, a T shirt is great. I have a bunch of old Revs giveaway shirts and wear them proudly. But, again, it depends on your interests. I like tea mugs and t shirts. Others like key chains and ski hats. But there has to be something, that is certain.

6.) Discounts at the Pro Shop. Moot until there is actually stuff in the Pro Shop. If Reebok comes in we may go back to the good old days when there was a lot of stuff. Then the discounts are of value.

7.) Parking discounts. Should be free for season ticket holders but at least it is discounted.

8.) show of support. I still believe in that. Others don't. Again, it is a matter of opinion.

I hope you get them. The ticket reps are, from my experience, really nice and informed folks.

That assumes that Stoitchkov and/or Kovalenko don't break his leg first.

Season tickets are a good deal, but being able to exchange unused tickets would really make a difference to me and a lot of other people. Even if it's one of those things where you take your chances on the seat you can actually get (within the same category) as an exchange, I think most people will be fine with that.

I think the Revs need to know that this would be a real difference-maker if that's how you feel. Every other MLS club has some sort of program like this, and unless they name it Futbolito, there's no reason why we can't do it here. The Revs could even learn a few "best practices" from the other clubs to see how they work it. One of the benefits of all the teams working for the same "Corporate Office."

I'm going to get my tickets as soon as I figure out where I'll be living after the first of the year. Honestly, getting a chance to see Freddy play how many times it's going to be is a consdiration. From a supporters perspective its going to be interesting watching this kid play against the home side.

Maybe a chant something like this.
    (To the tune of 'Mandy')

    Ohh Freddy...Oh Freddy...
Please score your goals on everyone but us...
We'll love you forever but please don't score on us..

    I dunno..

Maybe the Midnight Riders and other denizens of the Fort can resurrect the 1960's song by the British group Freddie and the Dreamers:

    Do the Freddie

Hear the happy feet dancing to the beat of the Freddie (Freddie)
Put a guy in front make a line in back then you're ready (ready)

    (chorus)
Kick your feet up swing your arms up too
Move your head both ways like you see me do
Then jump three feet to the swinging beat
Do the Freddie (Freddie) Do the Freddie (Freddie)

It's an easy dance give yourself a chance
    Dance the Freddie (Freddie)
It's the thing to do kids will envy you
So do the Freddie (Freddie) [high pitched maniacial laughter follows)

    [repeat chorus] Wow! [screamed]

[instrumental break here] [repeat chorus after break]

Dance the Freddie Dance the Freddie [repeated to fade out]

I'm a bit suprised that people are talking about the prices for season tickets when no one has a true idea of how many home games there are.....it would seem to make a difference, no?

The postcard the revs sent didn't make mention of it.
This past year's s.t. was inclusive of 20 events.
They really had to work a bit to find even the 4 events outside the revs' reg season and p.o. game.

Given the uncertainty of how many teams are going to be in the league next season (which may impact the no. of games in the '04 season), the lack of an event like the gold cup, and the fact that the u.s. will have only 3 or 4 home wcq matches during the upcoming mls season....i can't tell if the prices they are quoting are the same as this past season....or going up.

does anyone know if the revs are quoting prices based on 20 games....or, if the price is going to change come december?

    'nother Q.....

anyone remember if 12/29 is the earliest that these chislers have ever put forth as the drop dead date for reupping?

something tells me it used to be end february.

what? is lou worried about this year's slumping attendances that he needs to skim a bit off the top early before they can tell him "uh, yeah, your xmas bonus is in the mail". unfortunately, i doubt it.

and while the gals made no secret of the fact that the gouged their fans for one year because of the "curiosity factor" of new digs by dropping prices so that they don't have happen to them what happened out here in year 2....i'd venture to say that the early date for getting your s.t. $ in now is b/c the office will be putting in o.t. to get the "2 successful seasons in-a-row carrot" out in front of the corps and suits as soon as the new year hits.

good thing? bad thing? i guess i don't really know. however, i don't really think mls has gotten to the point where you start telling your loyal s.t. holders that they have to pony up 3+ mo's early......without announcing no of event dates, new programs (if any) or changes to the existing policies just yet.

...oh, and don't forget about that tnt bobble if you do it a full 6 days early.

Any answer as to what the start times will be? If it is before 7, I won't do a seasons pass. I am one of those folks who has kids who play and coaches youth soccer...

hey, you don't expect the revs to give you that info for free....do ya? (or how they're going to fill out the extra 5 non-league matches everyone will be paying for).

and i know that last year's s.t. re-up was NOT before xmas or for the new year. i did it on the last possible day (according to their letter)....wasn't before 1/1. revsrock, i think you must've be thinking of that swell autographed photo (of a player not of your choice) promo deadline.

thank god this year i won't have to worry about coming home to find tfIII taking up valuable space on my answering machine.

Do the ticket Reps/Revs mgmt even check these boards? Do they know that the "value" of season tickets aren't nearly as "good" as they used to be and that other teams give out alot to season ticket holders? No offense to TnT, but c'mon... a bobblehead doll???

In the case of season tickets, the Krafts are running the Revs as though they are the Pats (aka 7yr waiting list for season tickets). My grandfather clause ended this year and my total ticket cost went up from $400 to $680... can't they keep the bobblehead doll and not raise the ticket price? Yeah, I knew that the prices would go up this year, but it doesn't really hit you until the bill comes in the mail.

I've really enjoyed watching this team (good times and bad) over the past 6 years and pride myself on being a "12th player"... but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to reup on tix this year.

Someone, anyone, convince me to reup!!!
