United. I whole-heartedly believe that we have the best fans in Major League Soccer.” Didn't see this posted anywhere...
It's just a press release. It's great that DC has sold more season tix than last year but "a growing fan base" requires more fannies in the seats. So far attendance has been a bit disappointing. Still, there's plenty of games left and lets hope we see plenty of big crowds.
It is an interesting paradox that as the team continues to struggle and overal attendance falls that the number of season ticket holder continues to increase.
I guess only the die-hard fans are willing to suffer through our lack of scoring. It is suprising that the number of diehards increases.
The argument can be made that a "growing fan base" means more people who are willing to commit to going to games. And with a growing season tix base, that could be considered a growing fan base.
Not really. The losing leads to drinking. The drinking leads to more rowdiness at games and an increased liklihood of joining a supporters group/becoming a diehard.
