First lets spank metrobums. Then we can start the line up. I hate to say it but we picked up another young player. I quess Hudson had to. Well if you play Nick in the goal, put Galin, Reyes, Nelson, Prideaux, in the back with the mid running Etcheverry, Dema, Alegria, Convey. With two power forwards like stewart, a Hristo up front. Now in our bench we could have Quintanilla, Eskandarian, Curtis, Petke, Quaranta. As for Olsen I don't i would rather have John Harks. P.S. I don't care what you have to say about my other post. If you don't like my post tell me in a privet e-mail i rather talk about the team. Knave I am sorry you feel that way but you do know that this message board is not yours right. D.C United Rules! People People lets have some passion for the sport.
First off, Petke should start over Prideaux. Second, Hristo won't start, he wouldn't last very long if he started all the time. Quaranta will be the other striker. Last, there's no way Alegria starts over Olsen.
Trust me Olsen will not start and Quaranta still needs to learn how to score, without crying about a push here and there.
I see talent and I saw talent in Olsen back in the day. Two years without kicking a ball and playing that bad when you got back on the pitch can only mean one thing (Bench or second string for the rest of his soccer career.) Like it or not he is not playing up to what Hudson team needs. Show me one game that proves that theory wrong! D.C. United Rules! "People People show some passion for the sport"
So you're telling me that I'm supposed to believe your judgement of talent compared to Bruce Arena who has him starting on the national team. Now who am I supposed to believe? Arena starting him, or you saying that he can start on the USMNT but can't beat out Jose Alegria on DC United.
Re: I see talent The only reason DC had the smallest chance to make the playoffs last season was the return of Ben Olsen and his predicted spark to the line up. Maybe you are just stupid enough to forget a picture perfect cross to that no talent Henry Zambrano late in the last game that kept the dream alive, or maybe you just weren't there and are talking out of your ass. RH had Olsen playing out of position at many times during his comeback, just as Arena did against Argentina. When put back into his wide midfield slot, Olsen began to rule the sidelines again.
Bruce He starts him just to see his level not. I bet you wont see him in the next world cup! Bruce is loyal to his players just like he was loyal to Jeff Agoos. Why would he let him play after his crap in the first game. So you see that Bruce is a nice guy but come game time I bet Olsen wont be in the line up for 2006.
Re: Bruce How much are you willing to bet? Of course you stick with Agoos after one bad game, because what does that say to the players that if they screw up once then they're out of the tournament? Don't be ridiculous. Agoos lead us through qualifying, and there was no reason Bruce shouldn't have been loyal to him. Hopefully our bet will be easier to settle than sormun's and DigitalTrons, and I advise you start saving up now. (post #3333, just thought that was cool)
SEASON STARTS Just watch you will see that Hudson will not play Olsen that much. He might start the first two games but Hudson has no ties with Olsen so if Olsen doesn't show talent Hudson won't see talent. Which means that Olsen sits in the bench and watches talent. A bet is a gamble and this is no gamble i know Olsen won't be part of the 11 that start for Hudson. D.C United Rules! "People People show some passion for the sport"
But back to your WC 2006 comment, how much for that wager? And what about a bet that barring injury, Olsen will start more than the first 2 games this year.
Look at the results. You wanted results and here they are. After Olsen returned to the lineup in 2002 on July 27th United went 5-4-3. Without Olsen they were 4-10-2. There are your results.
Re: Look at the results. And what about games in which Olsen wasn't started out of position in forward? Keeping in mind this is after an 18 month layoff, and the instant spark was provided. Really this isn't about how much skill he lost over this time, it's about how much he was able to keep.
2006 Ok I'll bet, I bet you one dcunited game ticket for the 2006 season. I don't like to take peoples money but one tickets should not put a dent in your pocket. Ok I see the results but lets just wait and see what happen this season Olsen will not play as a starter. Why hate when you know I am right.
Re: 2006 That's fine, can't wait to see you in La Norte in 2006 paying for me. I don't hate, you are wrong.
Re: 2006 What are you talking about? You wanted results and you got your results. Now all indications are that I see are that he's OK and you tell me basically on a hunch that he stinks. I don't think so.
Sure you see me I will be the guy next to Olsen (cause he will not last that long in the team) in La Norte jumping up and down celebrating the ass beating we just gave the Metrobums.
This is kind of fun, actually. Entertainment for the lurkers is always appreciated. [Crawls back under rock]
Passion I am glad to see the Passion in this board, but I need to go now i will keep in be back on Friday so lets make sure not to get hit in the head with a soccer ball and forget your bets. Knave nice to see that you have not intruded in this post and thanks for the Yellow Card! D.C United Rules! "People People show some passion for the sport"
Apology accepted. When was the last time a card was given out on these boards though? I was thinking about it last night and can't really remember another time in my year and a half here that there has been one.
