Someone made a chart with Seattle and Orlando's colors, but hell if I can make any sense at all out of it other than that.
I think Atlanta wins the East, Charlotte takes the spoon and DC is close behind. Surprise performer? Rodriguez.
The colors indicate the conference. The height indicates the predicted finish from a few people. What's interesting to me is that they think Cincinnati will be better than we do. Losing Barreal and Vázquez is a pretty big hit. Boupendza didn't seem to have any chemistry with Lucho Acosta. And I'm somewhat doubtful that Acosta can replicate the extraordinarily high level he was at for two years in a row.
I love this, an 80% chance we don't end up in last place - I'd say a marked improvement over the last two or three seasons
By the way, the Eastern Conference is just a goddamned buzzsaw. You'd have to figure that Cincinnati, Orlando, Columbus, Miami, Philly, and Atlanta are probably all locks for the playoffs. If true, that would mean that there are only two play-in spots for everybody else.
I would be very surprised if DC wins the spoon while Benteke leads the league in goals. Unless this is some bizarro world where Benteke is the only player for DC to score all year, in which case, kudos!

Per Qbert "Post your 2024 predictions here so that we can all point and laugh at you come season's end."
On paper, you are correct. However, every season throws up the inexplicable failure. Miami last night looked old and slow. Suarez is immobile and his knees won't get better. What if Messi goes down for an extended period? Cincy lost Vazquez and Corey Baird is not a like for like. Acosta may or may not be as consistent as last year. Orlando and Columbus have very good coaches so they should be OK. Philly has stood pat and that team is getting older. Atlanta always seems to be a hot mess. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the team mentioned didn't make even the play in game.
I agree. But even if one team completely faceplants, that means there are only three playoff spots available for the entire rest of the conference. Nashville and New England would be pretty confident of their playoff chances if they were in the West and we haven't even mentioned them in this discussion. And NJ makes the playoffs every year no matter what...I think it's a league rule or something.
Those teams are 7 of our first 16 games this season, along with @ Portland, @ STL, SEA and @ NYC whose clown car of a field always kills us, which is why I am dubious about our point total at Labor Day, especially with the injuries we have and the depth we don't have. That leaves NE, NJ, CHI & both MTL fixtures. We may steal a point here and there from those teams we'll be under dogs to, but I know we'll drop points we should take in home games against relatively equal opponents, because we're DCU and that's what we do. We'll catch a break against MIA, because I think its low, low odds Messi plays.
Damn, if we are at that point total at Labor Day, they will have to invent something more than a Wooden Spoon award for us - like the Soap on Rope of Utter Futility.... I know you meant Memorial Day but folks this is the Internet and one must jump on the most insignificant of errors with the arrogance of believing you have a divine right to rule because of the sperm and egg that you came from...
it's much higher odds now that Arg will play both it's March window games here in US, especially since their first game is just up 95.
I feel like everybody is overestimating Miami. They have a lot of games to play and lot of old legs to play them on.
