1 – coach was fired: Andreas Brehme in Kaiserslautern. Last year at that time already three got rid off their job (Pagelsdorf, Funkel, Lorant). Only twice no coach was fired in the first half of the season, last time in 1972.

6 – points gap for Bayern Munich to the next successors. Only once a club wasted this advantage: Schalke against Bayern in 1971/72.

8 – points gap had Bayern Munich after 16 games. Only once a club wasted this advantage: Frankfurt at the beginning of the 90s. 8 is also the highest number of points ever wasted.

9 – points gap between Cottbus and a non-relegation rank. No team ever achieved to stay in with that disadvantage.

13 – goals were scored by Ailton. Record at halftime is 20 by Gerd Müller, last year Amoroso just had 10.

16 – red cards were shown by the refs, additionally 17 yellow-red ejections and 647 yellow cards.

29 – penalty kicks were whistled, 26 were scored. Ailton scored 3 of 3, Ciric 4 of 5.

70 – minutes would be Nürnberg’s preferred playing time. With the scores after 70 minutes Nürnberg would be second. Unfortunately they got ten goals against in the last quarter hour.

414 – players had playing time. The shortest: Florian Thorwart and Leandro of Borussia Dortmund with one minute each.

422 – goals were scored. That’s less than the worst number of goals of the last decade.

33.617 – average attendance of the league, the best attendance ever. Main reason are the new stadiums.
