Hmmm. Will the Fire have enough players to sit at all the tables?

Not to mention, with the way CdlC screws up formations, he'll probably instruct all the players to sit at one table instead of one at each table.

Luncheon tickets are now available for purchase online!*

Section 8 Chicago, The Independent Supporter Association of The Chicago Fire Soccer Club are happy to provide Fire fans with the following pricing:

    - $45 per ticket for individual purchase
    - $40 per ticket for groups of 5+

That's a big discount from the regular luncheon price of $75 per ticket for individuals. We offer this discount to encourage supporters to come out to such an important annual Fire event. This discount comes out of Section 8 Chicago coffers, as we cover it with our annual donation to the Fire Foundation: we pay full price for the tables ourselves.

So we would appreciate that if you purchase a discounted ticket, you take 10 minutes at some point in 2011 to help Section 8 Chicago raise money - whether it's helping at a bake sale, helping shift merch, or making sure you bring out friends to fill buses and buy Section 8 tickets. Or maybe buy a scarf tomorrow at the Holiday Party!

You may notice we are using a new, shinier ticket sales interface. We are also passing on the fee to process the ticket charge. It's pretty reasonable (about $4 on a $40 ticket), but we have decided we can't keep swallowing the cost of these charges ourselves, especially when we're heavily discounting the tickets to begin with.

    * However, if you would like to evade this charge, you may purchase your luncheon ticket tomorrow at SmallBar at the holiday party by paying in cash or check for your luncheon ticket(s). Please find Mario to do so!

Sorry for all the words. This is a great and fun event and we want to fill four tables with supporters this year, whether you sit in 126 or 134 or stand in 118, wherever you support the Fire on game day, join with us at this excellent event. We are working with the Foundation on a post-Luncheon drinks location, so take the whole day off now!

    Get your luncheon tickets now!*

Ok everyone we are now SOLD OUT of our $45 discounted tickets. We have a total of SIX tables for this event which is going to be a lot of fun.

I'm currently working on a place for us to meet AFTER the luncheon and continue the fun so stay tuned for that.

For those of you who were planning to go and have not gotten tickets we went ahead and added a SEVENTH table for this event but we could not continue to provide the $45 tickets.

Instead we've added tickets available for $65 which is still a small discount in price.

Here is the link for those of you interested.

This is a nice event. The luncheon provides a great opportunity to support the Foundation and a chance for the Chicago Fire Soccer Club to mingle and spend time together. The players, fans, staff, executives, and business partners can all come together and start the season off on a fun and positive note. Who knows maybe one of the new guys will be at your table, so there's a chance for you to ask them questions or tell them off color jokes.

And in the cdlc era, if you do have a player at your table, you will want to sit behind them or they won't pass you any food.

700+ in attendance, including da Commish, Don Garber, who gave props to Chicago's Section 8 as being the example for the rest of the league on how to be passionate fans at the beginning of MLS.

    Great event, as usual.

I've been to all of them too and this was, in fact, the largest. 750+ were there. In 1999, it was half that size.

Mad props to Jessica and the entire Fire staff for another fine event.
