FC matches are here, and hopefully to stay! training question...... i've got a bowler who is 20 years old this year. he is still getting trained for a few more weeks, should I continue to train him for the entire year? using the spreadsheet he should pop twice in primary and 3 times in secondary. not sure if I should give him nets or train two 17 yos.
That's a personal decision, but I think 20 is still eminently trainable, depending on the skill level you want to take him to. It depends, though, on whether you're training for your team or training to sell. All of my training is still training for my team, although Sarge could necessitate thinking more about economics depending on how FC works out.
If you're training for your team, then it certainly still makes sense to train at 20. Aside from the U19 guys that you run into the ground, a player won't really be finished, training-wise, until they hit 21 or 22, IMO.
i think i'll keep some nets on him. i'm pumped for this season. going to have to really pay attention to PFL and my lineups for each match.
FC was off to a fine start, until I ran into a scripting error in commentary. Nobody else has reported any such in bugs, but who knows if there are other matches afflicted with it. Up until that point, I was bowling, having conceded a run rate under four and with one wicket down in approx. ten overs.
my commentary was about 15 minutes late, but right now is... End of Over 33 (Maiden). Cook County Cricket Club: 125-2, runrate=3.79 Jarvis 7-3-14-1 Conroy* 72 (98 balls) Black 1 (7 balls) need to get the RR up and stop the bleeding of the wickets.
Either there was a quick bugfix by Allan, or it worked itself out. I'm heading for a draw if I'm not forced to follow on, as Batty Men haven't declared. They're up to 578-2.
made 424-7 with Conroy staring with a 203 i think secondaries really play into this because a bowler who is woeful/strong in batting is at 29* I set my target at 450, but I wonder if I set it at 424 my team would declare overnight? there should be a button to declare over night so you start out bowling the first over at the start of play on the next day. anyways, I'm thinking of changing my last 4 guys to attacking/very attacking and seeing if they stick around to get to 450 and then start bowling. my have to put 2 or 3 bowlers on attacking orders as well to see if i can get some wickets.
Batty Men declared after five overs at 605-3. I'm hoping that a) my bats can stick as long as possible and b) if they don't stay in all day, that the follow-on is not enforced.
it really is impossible to take wickets on a flat pitch. at least it seems to be for my team. End of Over 59 (10 runs). untouchables: 209-3, runrate=3.54 (1st Inn: 239-10) Lead by 8 runs. (Cook County Cricket Club 440-10) Gardner 13-0-62-1 Turner* 65 (148 balls) Rigler 31 (60 balls) i really don't know why they can't take one. Gotten 2 so far in this morning session and would like 2 more before lunch I find it funny that a guy like Turner, who probably has crappy concentration and wouldn't last too long in a ODI has lasyed 148 balls.
I'm surprised you're having trouble -- wickets fall a lot more quickly in the second innings than the first.
i finally got him bowled out. he scored more runs in his 2nd innings though. i'm 3 runs from victory. already lost 3 wickets chasing a target of 72, whereas I hit 440-10 the first time around
hey guys been playing BT since december last year, just stumbled onto this site not that long ago. Playing against a team which is at the same level as me I won at home by an innings & 236 runs. Very happy with the way FC went apart from a couple of little bugs.
Team name is declaration of war, id#6447. Play in Australia div V. My team is too good for the teams below me but just a bit behind those ahead of me so it is going to be another season or 2 at least until I can challenge for promotion in the OD series. The 6 players being trained are coming along nicely.
Anyone care to give me an update on my game today. Before I got to work (where the damn site is blocked) I was approx 240-4 in the 42nd over. Updates? Oh, its KC Googlies in England Div IV
you were bowled out for 269 in the 49th over. Delap kicked the shit out of his opening bats & took a wicket in each of his first 4 overs. These 2 have been going for a bit, but you are H & H mate End of Over 14: 71-5, runrate=5.07, reqrunrate=5.53 (269-10)Foulkes2-0-14-0Conroy*10 (15 balls)Aelian32 (29 balls) Last Wicket: Abdeen st. of course! my remarkable/masterful bowler just went for 8 runs an over in his first 5 overs spell. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooookay.
