Probably nothing, but they're apparently there. http://www.onceametro.com/2016/1/9/...ining-new-york-red-bulls-synergy-mls-ralfball

It's probably for the best. He hasn't even worked his way into being a regular for NYRB yet, but they've pledged to focus even more on homegrowns and developing players this year. Specifically I think they've talked about finding a place for him in the center of the park, although it won't be easy with Kljestan and Dax. Maybe he'd be the 8 going box-to-box. He has shown some defensive mettle, perimeter shooting, and has decent passing + mobility.
Perhaps some interest from Hertha Berlin? Source: Hertha Berlin are trying to extended Arne Maier's contract past 2019. RBNY Tyler Adams is "one of the first in line" should they not tie Arne down.— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) November 15, 2017
I found the thread in YAA where Adams was on trial, but I wanted to start a new one in the main YA forum. I know some (many?) of us want to see Tyler take his talents to Europe. This is a pretty tenuous way to start, but what the hell? Source: Hertha Berlin are trying to extended Arne Maier's contract past 2019. Since one of the reasons for this forum is to cover "Rumors (supported news/rumors about potential new YAs)" it seems like we should merge this with the one in the main forum -- but Adams is a MNT player now and probably deserves his own thread that isn't also about a training stint for Sean Davis. Mods, can you help?
Right. That's why I started a new thread in the main YA forum, because he's a first team player (and now capped international). Didn't think it was appropriate to put him in YAA. But I'll be fine if the mods want to merge.
I'm not a mod, but I think the point was to try to keep rumor threads out of the main forum, in part because there are rumors and there are rumors. It seems OK to stick to that, but either way -- one thread is plenty.
@bungadiri, can you merge this thread in the main YA forum with the Tyler Adams training thread in YAA? Thank you! And my bad for creating a new thread.
Maybe rename the thread “Tyler Adams European rumors” or something. I think that topic will get a lot of interest in the near future.
As Tyler starts getting European interest, will be interesting to see which clubs view him as a CM or a fullback/wingback.
Garber said two offers from foreign clubs were recently rejected by MLS: a $5m offer for a player on NYRB, and a $15m offer for someone on Atlanta United.— Ian Thomas (@byIanThomas) November 29, 2017 Last RT: that $5M bid RBNY turned down was for Tyler Adams— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) November 29, 2017
We don't know that it isn't the club. Look at the second tweet from post #17 ... it says that RBNY turned down the offer. As no transfer can happen without the league approving it, when someone says that MLS denied an offer, without a specific statement that it was the league office or the team, it really is a guess as to which entity nixed it. From what I remember years ago, the league office for the most part had decided to step away from preventing teams from moving their players on unless it was a wholly unreasonable offer, in their view. Just throwing that out there. Edit: Just to have my position on record, I would guess that Atlanta and RBNY were the ones who disapproved the transfers, if we are assuming the players are Almiron and Adams.
This is true... teams generally make decisions. The league these days tends to step in if something is completely unreasonable
Brian, would you say those bids were "unreasonable"? If the league did in fact reject them, which is what Ian Thomas's tweet states.
True, it is an assumption by me, but I'm going off Thomas's tweet, which says "...recently rejected by MLS."
That could simply be lazy writing. We see it here on this site all the time. "X" team will fail at something (like player development) and what ensues is a long conversation about how "MLS" needs to do a better job at developing players.
For his development, I'd love to see him in Germany by the end of January. For NYRB sake, they need to get more for him. He's worth more than 5.
And it could just be the way that Garber talks about the organization. "We" rejected these offers could be MLS HQ, or (more likely based on the way MLS approaches selling players now) the teams themselves as part of MLS.
