With the away fixture at Blackburn tomorrow (Sat), David SEAMAN will be making his 1000th first team appearance for the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger states, "This just goes to show how good he has been (and still is) to reach this mark. His is still playing at the top and for the top team".
Let's just hope that his form outstrips the (probably) current best 'keeper in the EPL at present at the other end of the field: "Brad Friedel". Jeff.

David Seaman is truly a class-act. A great player, he's been on the National Team forever, he supports all kinds of charities. The world would be a better place if more American athletes were like him.

    Vive le AFC!

Truly a legend. I can't even remember who we had before him.

Would any older Gooners like to weigh in on whether he's the greatest keeper in Arsenal history?

He is probably the most successful, but, the best man I've seen between the Highbury sticks is Pat Jennings.

Yeah, but Dave doesn't have the Sp*rs taint.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if Arsenal fans were slow to accept Jennings because he came from Sp*rs? Or did he fit right in?

I don't remember any major problems. Most fans had way to much respect to give Pat a hard time.

Seaman hasn't just been reliable, he's been downright reassuring. A great keeper, here's hoping Arsenal can squeeze a few more great seasons out of him before it's quitting time.

Incidentally, why the hell is it so hard to get goalkeeper replica jerseys? I'd love to get my hands on an Arsenal GK jersey (especially either of last year's, or this year's away jersey) but cannot seem to find any for sale online. Subside had a few at one point, but now they're all out of stock of my size. (I'm XXL, a goddamn moose!) I've tried Kitbag and a few other places-- no luck. It's just frustrating, is all...

Seaman is out for the Blackburn game, as such will have to wait for his 1,000th game.

By the way, I feel he is too slow on his feet and should be put out to stud!

I was tempted in my first report to include ("Unless he gets injured in training!"), but didin't want to tempt fate!
Perhaps if I had the hamstring injury would not have occured! (LOL). Also out today will be Vieira and Campbell. However AW believes all will be back for the clash with Valencia on Wednesday.
