Attendence drop off The Flounders drew less than 2,500 for their match on Wed at Memorial Staduium. It is a shame that a city that big with a team that is quite good can't turn out except to admire a stadium that will be used for American football.
Uhh..... One match, on a mid-week night, directly opposite a sold out Mariner home game, against a non-drawing opponent is a pretty small sample to come to that sort of conclusion already. I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong, but let's at least see what happens on weekends. There's more than a few MLS (not to mention the A-League) clubs that can't draw flies in similar circumstances, even with grass pitches and beer.
Re: Uhh..... If the Sounders had a decent stadium with the ease of access, of say Portland, I think the crowd situation would change dramatically. Getting back into Seattle mid-week at the tail-end of rush hour can be a bit of a nightmare, especially if one of the other major sports teams has a game. Plus, no one wants a decent stadium with a good playing surface more than the Sounder players.
