If you haven't seen it, be sure to record "When Soccer Came To America" which is on right after the postgame show. It's a look at the rise of the NASL...until Pele retired then it crashed quick.
The OSU Marching Band uniforms have been discussed in a similar fashion. From most angles and in most lighting, they look black...but in person and up close, they're really a super-ultra dark blue. I bet these jerseys are the same. Why they're not the same shade as the flag is a mystery.
In my mind, that goal is on Trusty. Richards had Fernandes covered, and rather than pursuing him, he should have turned and picked up an onrushing Trincao. 0-1 POR at the half.
Dang! I turned it off too soon. Thanks for posting. (And I DVR'ed the NASL show from Saturday; haven't watched it yet). Have to agree with the GK's. Inside backs: Richards, McKenzie, Robinson, Ream (yes, Ream; as a backup). Outside backs: If (and it's a big if) Dest is healthy, I think you have to consider him *for the bench* because of his ability to play either outside back. Freeman needs to be on the roster as RB and Jedi as the LB. #4? Maybe Arfsten? I think he's ahead of Scally. Maybe more IMO thoughts later. A lot is going to come down to who is healthy and who is in good form over the next ~7 weeks.
The TNT guys were saying the same thing due to his Olympic experience. Not that he has a chance to play, of course.
Tnt is stupid. Pepi is 4th choice striker. Haji was injured this window. Pepi has been healthy and played 15
In DVRing the NASL show? The postgame for the US game went waaaaay over. so unless you taped the next show (which I ended up doing).... I'm looking forward to seeing if the Atoms are mentioned, but I'm betting this will be Cosmos-centric a bit (understandable). On Scally (and yes, I'm biased), he's playing in a tougher league in a relegation battle. So, we'll see. He's also been moved up to more of a wingback lately in Gladbach's formations, which gives him a bit more versatility. Renya, if healthy, would be automatic. But he's not been.
They showed the 70’s/early days/NASL show before the pregame show on Sat in the leadup to the Belgium match. I DVR’ed it then.
Good thing we got Matan under contract because he'd be a potential replacement for Matt Crocker (he was behind hiring Hayes and Poch, and he expanded the youth ID programs and camps) https://foxsports.onelink.me/SY6x/rf8839wi
1) he knows what a disaster this WC will be for the US 2) $$$ Wish Poch would've followed him to Saudi as well,
Yeah Poch!! Let's trust FIFA to do the right thing! Players need to shut up, no greed here!! What a fvcking tool he is.
I know by this comment they you've never been to MetLife Stadium and I'm 60% confident you haven't been to NY/NJ at all.
I went solo to the World Cup semifinal in 1996 at the old Giants Stadium. I flew in to Newark, took a bus to the Port Authority and another bus back to NJ and the stadium. It was an adventure.
Just reading yesterday, that there is a problem with the new Nike WC jerseys. Both the authentic and the replicas for sale. They are 'bunching up' in the shoulder area. And looking at this photo of the sax player here, you can see the issue.
