The Gold Cup is irrelevant to the World Cup. There's only like two starters there, Turner and Richards. Adams is hurt again, the rest are just random dudes. Couple bench guys, that's it.
why would it matter how the USA perform then in relation to Poch’s job? If he goes 0-3 in the group it’s all just 3rd-4th stringers.
Because GB won trophies with shit third and fourth stringers. GB never lost 3 in a row, forget 4 in a row. GB wasn't having public spats with the star player inside his first year. Poch hasn't done a single thing right so far, it's crazy.
I freaking hope man. I would love to be wrong and see Poch turn everything around. I don't wanna spend thousands of dollars to travel for the WC and go to a game and watch the US crash and burn. I barely got the money to justify it, I'd like to see them at least look competent, dare I say decent or good.
I hear ya. Heading to Austin and Dallas later this week and have already spent $$$ on this shite team.
Dear lord. US couldn't do anything against Switzerland or Turkey. Shows how shit CONCACAF is past the top few countries. Embarrassing for T&T.
Glad for Tillman. He's had a lot of bad games in the US jersey and glad to see him succeed. Also really like the grit that Luna shows. Need a lot more people with that constant fight that he brings.
Sad for Schulte as I think he would be starting this game over Freese (who does deserve the opportunity, to be fair)
Apparently the world needs another podcast, so Meghan Klingenberg and Alejandro Bedoya will "drop" a new episode of the US Soccer Podcast every Wednesday. USSoccer.com, Westwood One Sports, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube will be your places to listen.
Max was alright. Whole first half he was the only guy with the ball, so he gave it a way a bit. A little indecisive but tbf there were no great options. Still think Tolkin is better, but i dont think hes as bad as the usmnt fans on twitter think. Berhalter and Richards the clear winners in this game.
The half full stadium, and weak atmosphere, in Austin was such a disgrace. This match in C-Bus, or in many other US cities, would have been a full house with a raucous pro-USMNT atmosphere. Why is Austin getting these matches?
Maybe, maybe not. Is it possible, especially with the Club competition going on at the same time, that we've reached saturation?
