According to this article from as.com LaLiga has set a deadline of December 31 for FC Barcelona to improve their financial situation, specifically requiring them to balance their books to comply with the 1:1 rule that would allow them to sign new players without considering salary caps. The article also mentions that LaLiga rejected Barcelona's attempt to use a potential future contract with Nike as financial collateral, as such a move would be akin to accepting credit based on future player sales, which is not permitted by LaLiga's regulations.

Sigh. Laporta should really just shut his trap from now on. The less he talks the better off we are.

Yeah, all of this is why I wasn't stoked to buy Olmo.

Yes, he's good. Moar gooder than Gundogan, and I understand why Flick wanted him. Managers care ONLY about "this year," because their job may only last for "this year." They give zero shytes about the finances, and zero shytes about the health of the clubs they work for.

But I'd rather that these sorts of issues were in the past, than to spend on 'wants.'

Lol. “Outrage”. You’re making an absolute fool out of yourself as you’re too hasty to “stick it” to us rather than actually read what was said from the start. Even in the very post you quoted. Smh. Try again.

Meh, to be fair, Olmo is off to a good start in all of 1.5 matches, so that's a career, right?

OTOH, who Olmo gets hurt as he always does, I'm SURE Curls will also post here as well.

When can Laporta GTFO? Him coming out and trashing Xavi yesterday is not helpful. Why introduce that negative energy into the club? Its also counting chickens too early. Barca had 4-match win streaks while Xavi was in charge too. In fact, this is their third such win streak just since April.

I saw what he said. He probably could’ve gotten away with the first part where he talked about Flicks adaptation , but the second part was definitely unnecessary . And yes, he may be gloating a bit too early. What if he ends up being right, then I will give him his props for the switch.

You underestimate the ineptness and utter stupidity of this board. We can still sign free agents like Rabiot, who we’ve been linked with. Then again, who haven’t we been linked with? In any case. I hope we stay far, far away from Rabiot. He probably still has nightmares from Lamine which hopefully serves as a deterrent to sign with us. Useless player.

I hope that the game vs the Netherlands have put the Tah rumors to rest for good. Brian Brobbey absolutely dominated him in their game vs Germany to the point that the coach had to address it after the game and it didn't go unnoticed in the media either. No thanks. I didn't want him even before this game, now it's just a confirmation for me and a revelation for others.

I wish I were so settled on this.

After all, the imbecile who is the sporting director blew millions of € on Vitor Roque. And managers think only about this season, and maybe next, if that.

I could easily see Deco or Flick convincing himself that Kimmich and/or Tah are "still good enough," sign one or both to a moronic contract, and then they both either get hurt, or are cooked by the time they arrive.

And while Olmo has had a fine start, him coming up injured whilst on international duty was all too predictable.

While I had my reservations about Nico possibly having an outlier performance during the Euro’s and not being able to consistently perform at the level he displayed there I did not expect such a poor start for both club and country.
Did we doge a bullet? Or is it just a slow start after a grueling tournament?

Whatever it is, let’s see if he can turn it around. While I hope he does for his sake, I still hope we don’t go for him again. As the sole member of the ‘sign Kvara’ club I still hope we go for him.

    Anyway. Time will tell.

Yeah, time will tell us more. Although Nico is older than one might guess if they never heard of him before and just listened to fans talk about him. I think we know enough about Nico to say that the Euros weren't an outlier. He has shown that in La Liga in previous seasons. But perhaps he did benefit in the Euros with getting more space resulting from the fact that Spain has more weapons than Athletic.

That's just it, he seems to have benefited from playing with a better team and thus, was made to look better than he actually is on a regular basis. That's not to say he is a bad player, but just not as great as the Euro's would suggest. Lamine Yamal is the better talent IMO and much younger. I don't think Nico can carry an attack of a team like Barcelona the way Lamine does.

It might be an unfair comparison as Lamine seems to be a generational talent but it's just my observations since the Euro's up to this point and the way Nico has been talked up after the Euro's you'd think we missed out on the second coming. I still have a feeling we'll go for Nico as Lamine seems fond of him, I just really hope we don't if he doesn't shape up. Moreover, Lamine is still young and the club shouldn't sign players based on the whims of a 17-year old.

    Agreed.

If anything, I'm more concerned that Olmo's Euro was more the outlier. Himbeing unusually healthy during the Euros while others just finished a long season gives/gave me reason to pause.

Lamine's younger, but his youth is freakish.

Nico isn't "old" at (checks notes) 22.

More importantly, while Lamine is elite 1 v 1, Nico provides the pace and athleticism that few in the game can offer. Having both would be lethal, whether in a vertical attack, or in a possession-based buildup.

If memory serves, they just "HAD TO" pull levers to buy Ferran, and so, they sent Ez Abde away.

Yet another example of La Masia >>>>> stoopid purchases.

I thought we had the right to buy Abde back from Betis , or did they remove that option last season ?
