Barca definitely seem interested, but I doubt it would be for that much. We know we can get Nico for €58 so I assume that would be the limit on anyone at the same position.

The Diaz "rumour" seems like agent bullshïttery.

I mean, Raphinha's about to sign a contract, yet according to this bullshït, Barça are gonna shït €80MM+ for a backup LW.

Meanwhile, Nico is some €20MM cheaper, and 6 or 7 years younger, and already familiar with most of Barça's roster than some overhyped guy from POOl.

salary demands are probably more of an issue than transfer fees though.

Laporta has made a few comments about the roster and transfersr:

    - Barca will be active in the transfer window to address many positions
    - Lamine to get an obvious raise
    - There was interest in Niko last season but not anymore
    - Frenkie's situation needs to be addressed ASAP as he will be on the last year of his contract
    - Laporta wants Ansu to stay with the club, but he needs to play (could mean another loan)

    1. Hell no to Diaz. I hate that this is even a rumor. Overrated at the rumored asking price and will only decline from here on out being 28/29(?) already. Have we not learned a damn thing these last years? SMH.

    2. Conversely, these Fermin rumors are insane! They better not sell him! He’s been better than Olmo in the latter part of the season IMO. Young, very talented, Masia product. Wish he had more minutes, hope he will next season.

    3. I’m totally over Nico since he rejected us last season tbh. Doesn’t seem like he improved much if at all this season either. Granted he’s been injured for a good part of it. Also, it seems RM might be pushing for him this season. They can have him. We better not embarrass ourselves as a club for Nico again.

    4. Instead of overspending on Diaz and groveling for Nico, we might want to look in-house. Jan Virgili anyone? He looks great! Will hopefully be called up for preseason to show his stuff.

    5. What we truly need this season is for the Julian Alvarez rumors to be true! I can’t imagine relying solely on old man Lewy again next season if our aim is to be in the mix of every competition again. Torres isn’t cut out to be our main striker either, good back-up though. We probably can’t afford Alvarez…

    6. I’d also like to see Jofre Torrents called up for preseason. Very talented Masia left-back option. I’m not so sure about Martin…

    7. I hope Bernal is back next season and picks up where he left off prior to his unfortunate injury. He showed so much promise and will be a great option to have in the Frenkie position.

    8. Can we trust Ter Stegen to be our main goalie for next season? Is Szczęsny good enough to be the main man? I feel like Stegen hasn’t been his godly self for a while now, before his injury ofc. We miss a WC goalie.

Yeah. Not sure about Diaz. $80m is too expensive for starters. I am guessing Flick likes him before of his mobility off the ball. A bit like Raphinha. Also, why would Diaz want to be a bench / rotation player ? Unless Flick is gonna switch the system up. Diaz might be wanting to get a new contract at Liverpool to be honest.

Nico I think is more of a ball at his feet type of player. I haven't watched enough of him to determine. I don't understand Madrid going for him. They already have 2 players who like playing on the left. Does he also play on the right side ? Makes no sense.

Fermin leaving would only be because of money or the player forcing his way out for minutes. I agree, makes no sense.

Yeah, Diaz can definitely improve us short term. He seems pretty ideal for the style Flick/Barca plays. But yeah, rumored price is WAY too much for someone that doesn't even start regularly for Liverpool (and would probably be the same situation at Barca). Since he's EPL material, I am assuming his salary is insane too.

I can concede that Diaz is good, and could possibly be marginally better than Raphinha in Flick's system. I can further concede that this has been Raphinha's Magnum Opus, his career best year, and that he may suffer a decline in form in next season.

    What I cant feature are:

    1. There is no clear and present need for a LW, and when funds are short, the simple approach of not buying things you don't need is an easy way to improve the finances.

    2. The purported acquisition cost is obscene, as are the idiotic likely wage demands.

    3. Diaz is 28, which means he has zero potential for resale, if needs or wants change for the club in the future.

    4. There are ckear and present needs, both today, and in coming seasons that will require investment.

    5. POOl have already robbed this club in the Coutinho deal, and Deco/Bojan/Laporta are all too stupid to deal with their intellectual superiors.

TL/DR: This is bad and dumb Idea that should have been aborted at conception. I fear that Deco/Bojan/Laporta are collectively too stoopid to realize it.

Despite all of the criticism and a luke-warm start, Mbappe has been amassing goals and is now pretty much locked in for the golden boot.

If RM manage to sort out their midfield and defense, watch out.

We need to be proactive and focus on an elite striker of our own. Alvarez? Gyokeres?

They’ll both cost a boatload of money, but I’d rather invest big in that position than spend 80+k on Diaz.

I'd still argue that they haven't sorted out their attack. Not even close.

If both Lewandowski and Mbappe had the same PK opportunities, the pichichi is Lewandowski's.

Mbappe's been stat-padding in garbage time against lesser opponents.

Sad to see the Diaz rumors gaining traction. For my own sanity I will refuse to believe we are this dense until it’s actually officially announced.

I would rather see us going after that twat from Athletic Bilbao as he’d be like 30m cheaper and he’s also younger.

I hope Flick can see past his personal relationship with Lewandowski in order to look at the striker situation rationally.
We need to start moving on from Lewy. We can’t be reactive in this and waste a whole season because we were too passive on this.
He’ll be 37 in August, and that much more prone to injuries and likelihood of declining fast.

We have the momentum being the best footballing side in world football this season at our peak. It really is a darm shame that we aren’t in the CL final, we certainly deserve it.

Point is, we need to build on this momentum. We have the world’s best player at 17 years of age, we have a great coach (though that defensive high-line is a concern), we have some of the world’s best youngsters as well in defense and midfield. We just need to make some tweaks (signings) here and there and hope for little to no injuries to our starting 11.

With that being said, I love that Yamal doesn’t seem to be injury prone and that Pedri also made it throughout a whole season.

    OK, deep breath.

Now, post A LINK where you're seeing this, so that the rest of us can also see this.

Not a long post with everything, EXCEPT a link, a succinct post WITH LINKS.

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, you need to take your own advice and take a deep breath there buddy. Writing with captions demanding stuff on a random football forum from some random person isn’t going to get you anywhere.

Secondly, a simple google search will show you all you need to know. Go crazy with all of the links you see there. I’ll share links if I deem it necessary. In this case it’s not as it’s just everywhere.

    You’re welcome in advance.

Show me. Give me LINKS. Not just a post with anything BUT a LINK.

In all seriousness though, I don’t believe you for a second. One google search and you get everything except news contradicting this. I said it’s gaining traction, not that it’s a done deal.

    Here you go.

    https://anfieldindex.com/82401/why-...s-diaz-has-raised-questions-at-liverpool.html

If even the English press, who are wont to desperately gin up idiotic "rumours," without basis that Barça are gonna buy a player then question that "rumour," its probably English bullshyte.

    Now you go.

It’s called a rumor for a reason… I explicitly said, Diaz rumor. I’m not the one to question the “idiocy” of said rumors. I can, however, observe if these rumors are growing or fading.

I like to check on transfermarkt for information about transfer rumors per player per club. There you can also see that Diaz’ rumors are on the up and thus “gaining traction” as I stated. Nothing more, nothing less.

A simple google search will also do the trick. More (sports) news outlets are talking/reporting about it then prior. Simple as.

Right back at ya buddy. Relax and understand that it’s not that deep.

Furthermore, it’s also common courtesy to ask politely. Things might have gone differently if you did. Just a tip.
