my coach was dealing with a high volume of scouts contacting him, and I had a ton contacting me, so we set up this website www.austenallred.tk as a temporary place to direct scouts. Not very many of them were big names, colleges, pro teams stuff like that, but a ton were from teams around the area. Do you think this is a good idea, or should I talk to them in person PS my contact info is on the site. Is THIS a good idea?
why do you laugh? The site is mostly to give somewhere for em to go so I dont have to waste my time. They're little stupid coaches trying to recruit their way to victory. Austen
I understand that you are just trying to inform coaches of your incredibleness, but the fact is that your website comes across that you think that you are the greatest player ever. Try to tone it down a bit. And i agree, for some reason it is so funny. PLEASE take out the bit about the corner kicks, it makes you sound like a complete tosser. But good luck, im sure the coaches will be impressed.
It just seems like a big joke. I have had a fair amount of success in soccer; went to college on a full scholarship when I was 16, and I didn't have a website. The key to being a good player is being humble and making school your number 1 priority.
HAHAHA, yes, I absolutely agree with you. It was just thrown together last night, it's nowhere near perfected, just the basic idea. When it's ready to go, it wont have like an entire page of ads either. He was trying to copy and paste code, and he accidentally pasted the code for the ad like 3 times. My coach was trying to make me sound real good, I didn't really make any of the site, but he thinks its funny when people give me cards and stuff. He uses it as a team strategy sometimes, when a team's coach disses on us and says we should move down a division, he just says - but you gave so and so a card. Coaches give cards out to a few kids on my team like candy. I don't think as high of myself as the website does, and you were right to laugh. I was just thinking you were laughing at the idea, and I wanted to know why. Thanks. Austen
If you ever need to be laughed at in the future dont be afraid to ask. Also, it might be an idea to put in your academic performance as well, if they are good, it will show that you are serious about your career. Again, good luck.
YOU GUYS AREN'T UNDERSTANDING THIS! READ THIS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE!!!! This website isn't really put together! HALF THE INFORMATION IS WRONG, WE WERE JUST TRYING TO GET THE TABLES SET AND STUFF! Yes it is way too cocky, no one was supposed to see it for a while, but I was asking for suggestions on whether the GENERAL IDEA is good or not. This isn't a website that I'd send out to college coaches and crap like that, just to the stupid little club coaches that want their kids to be able to win, so they try to recruit their way to victory. I have picture frames of cards from white trash coaches that hand em out like candy (not saying that I earned the cards at all, they just toss em around). It is a good tool for when they say that we aren't good enough and should move down a division though, I save em for that reason, so that I can say, look, here are cards you gave me and half the other players on my team! As for you that say put academics first- I am. I want to go to BYU, the college that both of my parents and all of my grandparents went to. I would be going there whether I make the soccer team or not. I do think it's funny how you say not to be cocky right after you brag about going to school on a full soccer scholarship when you were 16 though... Austen

How comes you got UCLA and Harvard interested in ya? All i get is the same teams (Ipswich,Norwich, Essex Uni etc) but would rather play in America because i want to go to UCLA.
thats not UCLA and harvard interested in me... that's me interested in UCLA and Harvard, but most likely I'll go to BYU, unless I can get a scholarship to a good school for education. Austen
just so you guys know... it's working. a scout called me before practice this morning (what kind of scout calls at 6:30 AM!!) and I didn't have to sit and talk to him, I just gave him the web address. saved me 15 mins! I put a hit counter on there last night
I think its a good idea and all for the website but I mean, your 14. I am 15 and I just wanna get noticed by the scouts that are at the tournaments and high school games I go to. There is one amazing players on my team and scouts often come to see him. I hope they notice me too.
