Why did I even bother going? We did look better than usual, but that is no excuse for some shocking defending. We GAVE them 3 goals through stupid play. Burns should get the sack, along with Taylor. Burns was part of the Berti problem and we need a new start.

Plus points to Quashie and McFadden. The latter being our key player now. However, the following players should never be seen in a Scotland strip ever again: Marshall, McNaughton, Murray and Pearson. Shocking displays by all. How the hell McNamee and McKenzie aren't even included is a complete joke. McNamee is miles better than McNaughton, who yet again showed why he isn't an international standard of player. Marshall is too young, too inexperienced and too inconsistant. Just because he plays for Celtic, should not make him automatic first choice. We need an older keeper to steady the ship and thus allow us to blood these younger keepers in. McKenzie has been outstanding since he joined Livi and despite having a ******** defense in front of him this season, has still performed superbly. Yet he doesn't even get a shout. Don't get me started on the O'Brien farce either.

A bit suspicious that, a Celtic coach leaving on a player for 90 minutes who was needing some match practice.

    ;)

They played some decent (passing) football, but one or two strange selections. Ian Murray is a decent player but is not a left back.

I agree that Marshall should be in the u21s, but Roddy McKenzie? (see above) Are you being serious?

    :p

Yes. He is consistant, solid and capable of pulling of great saves. I can only fault him for 1 goal conceded this season. If you watch him regularly, then you would know what I am talking about.

We had obvious problems with the full-backs last night. They were to blame for all the goals IMO. But they are decent players (Murray and McNaughton), just too inexperienced.

That's the thing though... everyone believes their team's players are worldbeaters and would make a massive difference to the national team squad if they were selected. Anderson and McNaughton's recent call-ups are down in no small part to the fact that the team is flying high in the league - when they were part of a defence that was rooted to 11th spot in the league last season they didn't get a look in. So chances are that whilst Roddy McKenzie is keeping goal for the team at the foot of the SPL he won't be anywhere near the Scotland setup.

He has impressed against every side. The fact that he isn't even given a chance is shocking. McNamee is the best right-back that the country has, yet he has been snubbed. O'Brien is a great left-sided talent, but he was snubbed as well. It's just not good enough.

IMO, another player worth considering is Paul Hartley. He’s direct, a good passer and a free-kick specialist.
