You're welcome, Gers. From Yahoo! But that's okay. Because even if you win the Championship and go to the CL, you'll crash out again in the first stages, as usual.
Um, who cares? We get second, we're in, we win two more UEFA cup games, we're in. At least this way Rangers can avoid the embarassment of yet another qualifying round loss. Not that we have much to boast in that regard mind you.
Ummm... Scottish teams in the CL in the past few years... 98-99 Celtic crashed out on the quals to NK Croatia 99-00 Rangers finished in group stage behind Valencia and Bayern Munich, I mean, these are not patsies 00-01 OK, Rangers choked after getting 6 points in the first 2 games in group stage 01-02 Rangers lost to Fenerbahce in the quals, Celtic lost out to Porto and Juventus; the choke against Rosenborg was particularly ugly. 02-03 Basle in the qualifying round? C'mon The total tally: Celtic - eliminated in group stage once, eliminated in the quals twice Rangers - eliminated in group stage twice, eliminated in the quals once. If nothing else, Rangers are better than the Bhoys in getting thru' the quals. I hate to say it, but Scottish football is not what it used to be. It seems like getting to the 2nd round of the CL is quite an achievement.
Good job. I knew it. When they lost to Basle after taking a 3-1 lead, I knew it. They must have had their sight set on the UEFA Cup before they travelled to Switzerland...
Re: speaking of milking it...... Well, as of April 25, 2003, ***NOT AS LONG AS CELTIC*** Is that a true statement or not?
